  1. Plenty of mention of Eugene being a very pitcher friendly park. Wasn't aware of that tbh. Reference made to road splits for Galindo and Wilson. Not the best comments in the chat on Hudson either.
  2. Three 2016 draft picks promoted from Arizona to Eugene. Carter, Clark & Miller. Maybe a few promotions from the DSL????
  3. Yeah of last years signings Diaz, Nunez, Carrera, Assad, Rodriguez, Ocampo and Kelli look like they could possibly be decent prospects which were all acquired under the max spend this year and next. The year previous we signed Peguero, 2 Meija's, Cabrera, Garcia, Cueva, Camargo & Sepulveda. There could be something interesting among them. It seems like this year our money has been spent in Mexico and Asia/Europe as already mentioned by Badler(specifically mentioned Mexico) especially as any signings from Dominican or Venezuela would probably have been reported. From recollection we didn't hear about any of the Mexican signings until EXST (or BA's Review) except for Albertos and Paredes. Hope a few signings this year like Camargo, Garcia, Assad etc will have already happened but won't be reported for a while. Ocampo from Colombia was similar and hopefully another under the radar signing this year too from Colombia. There is one difference this year from when we had the penalty 2 years ago and that is the pool amount. This year we only have $2mil to spread around. Personally see 4 or 5 300k guys and the rest then a bunch of other guys.
  4. Haha that's funny as I even felt bad writing it. No problem trading any other player really. Would you consider trading Almora and resigning Fowler to a 2 or 3 year deal? 2021 and 2022 is interesting as to who they extend already and if you have Almora aswell. I understand looking too far down the line as well. But Fowler compliments other players perfectly. Obviously have to consider the compensation pick.
  5. Had a quick look through what players we could look at in the winter. Sharma's latest article is interesting linking the Blue Jays, Braves and Reds. Think we line up with the Reds the best with regard a trading partner apart from the fact they are in our division. Think Amir Garrett, Cody Reed or Robert Stephenson would be pitchers we might look at. Candelario, Soler, Caratini & Zagunis are players we could consider trading. I'd do Soler plus or Jimenez plus for 2 of them.
  6. Yeah. Pitching at rookie ball next year will be very interesting. Add to the above post the BA reports on the others Marquez Carrera Assad Albertos Camargo Interesting as it is clear Albertos added to his fastball. Hoping for the same for Carrera tbh. Has a terrific groundout ratio. And if you add Ochoa, Geurrero and older guys like Mac Donna and Colorado..... Personally think Carlos Ocampo, Ferribus, Perez & Ramos get another year in the DSL. Out of interest what position players do you expect to be promoted from the DSL next year?
  7. Looks like Erling Moreno is taking Paulino's spot in the Eugene rotation. Really like some of our lower level pitching. Next year between South Bend and Eugene you should have Cease, De La Cruz, Paulino, Hudson, Rondon, Castillo, Albertos, Moreno, Assad & Ochoa. Then in the AZL you would have Marquez, Garcia and Carrera. How many of these can throw mid-90's FB??
  8. Marquez getting plenty of groundouts as well. Interesting that Rodriguez got time in CF. Heard he was a 1B corner outfielder type. 4SB hopefully suggests he is athletic enough for CF
  9. I thought it was more in the sense that the teams already over the pool can stay signing players as they already have the penalty for next two years. And the two teams mentioned have not used their whole international pool allocation. How I read it in relation to the cubs that we have already allocated our pool to players that we will be signing and therefore won't be pursuing these players.
  10. 75% of mexican bonuses go to the team therefore only quarter of bonuses mentioned above go against the cubs bonus pool.
  11. Found the above the most interesting in BA's article. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/international-reviews-chicago-cubs-2015/#WV4hErJBSeKB70p5.97 Other interesting notes; Paredes, Ademan, Albertos & possibly Sierra playing in AZL. Ademan best prospect from IFA signings. Christopher Morel injured. Out until mid season at least. Marquez 92 mph Albertos 94. Javier Assad (150k) 94 Apparently several teams didn't even get an opportunity to see Henderson Perez. Cubs signed him early i'd say

  13. Plenty of left handed hitters too...
  14. So we find out about Lazarito tomorrow. Not expecting much.
  15. I'd say Gutierrez is still just ahead of the two. Morejon, Ruiz, Yasiel Sierra and 1 of the 3 and I'll be happy. Ha. Morejon is the one I want. Happy if it was just him we got.
