I mean, he wasn't exactly a control pitcher at his best, he's always gonna walk the same tightrope that Edwards does. Minus the pure stuff that Edwards has. Both are infuriating pitchers but at least one has actually done well in a Cubs uniform.
Well 85 mph in the heart of the zone can be hit out by any player in this league no matter the wind. That was batting practice. It didn’t even look like he got all of it and going oppo with it, just seemed like a ball that in no way should get out. I'm with you. StatCast had it at 100.1 mph and it sure didn't seem like he hit it that hard.
Is he getting hit hard? Pat and Ron are making it sound like he's been the victim of awful luck on weak contact. Lots of dickshot fastballs when he has count leverage even though they aren't smoking the ball by any means.
