  1. Going to be tough now the the D'Backs got that middle of the order bat in Adam Rosales.
  2. Remember when the Brewers blew a 6.5 game lead in July of 2014 traded for Gerardo Parra held onto first all of August got swept by the Cubs the first 3 games of September then finished 8 games out of first?? Then turned around and traded Parra for Davies in 2015 so 2 years later when they thought they had a shot of the division Victor Caratini could hit a game winning dong of him? Good times.
  3. Will miss Grienke. Of course this squad probably smacks him around and continue to make meddling soft throwers look like Cy Young front runners AtBat App has Grienke vs. Quintana on Thursday I think it would've been Robbie Ray's spot but with the off day Monday they can slide up Grienke.
  4. it's 8 games. Let's see 56-48=8. You're right! Thanks! My excuse is when I opened Cubs dot com on my phone it must've still said 55-48 for a little bit before it updated. haha
  5. Well it's August, not yet but it will be, and our World Champion Chicago Cubs are sitting in first place at a season high 8 games over .500. Welcome to the team Justin Wilson and Alex Avila!! I moved to 2-0 as game thread starter. They weren't the prettiest offensive games but I helped the Cubs with improbable rallies. Bryant HLS RBI then a GW HR by Heyward followed by a GW HR by Victor Caratini and a "close and late HR by Bryant. As game thread starter Bryant is picking up stats that aren't empty and proving he can be an asset, hopefully he keeps it up. Speaking of keeping it up Jake has been great lately...not God mode Jake but Jake is pitching we got this mode Jake. It's got to be the haircut. Nevermind it's another pitcher with little to no hair up top, he's looking to keep it up though after bouncing back from the pre all star breaking outing vs Pittsburgh to win his last 3. http://www.csnchicago.com/sites/csnchicago/files/styles/article_hero_image/public/2016/04/12/jon-lester-fired-up-5-16-15.png?itok=ezMpYi6- Score early and often and win, Cubs!
  6. Through the first 15 innings of the series it wasn't looking great but we took 2 of 3!!
  7. Braun, Shaw, and Santana due up in the bottom half..time for Bryant to homer.
  8. This horsefeathers is getting annoying...warning track line outs...diving catches.
  9. Re-watching Heyward's Dong, it comes somewhat close to Wade Davis warming up. He kind of turns his head to look at it, then throws his next warm up pitch. So intense!! Thought it was kind of funny.
  10. In my first career game thread I made some promises.. Cubs would give up way less runs than the Brewers. They didn't give up "way" but they gave up less. I said the Cubs would score 7 runs and stay in first place, well they didn't even get 6 hits...but we are still in first!! Now you may be thinking that it wasn't a good showing for me...but I provided some unlikely results. First a HLS hit and rbi by Kris Bryant, he got one last Saturday too but that doesn't fit the storyline. Then in the place of his first Cub homer (the night before the birth of my daughter) Heyward sent a rocket over the wall for the potential game winning homer!! Now can I pull out another unlikely result, a relaxing Lackey outing with a win?? Come on John I need you..or do you need me?? http://desipio.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/BoSnjHNCUAEFZSF.jpg P.S. Brewers r vomit
