  1. 5 runs ALL SERIES with the wind blowing out back to back games. Yea, sounds exactly right. Baseball can be a very dumb sport. The Brewers actually win a series.
  2. I fully expect the Cardinals to win this way: Leadoff HBP, Sac bunt, groundout and runner advances to 3rd and a drop third, wild pitch on strike 3 to win it.
  3. So Bryant has yet to hit his first homer in 2 plus weeks, The Brewers could win 2 of 3 against us at home and the Cardinals never lose even without Wainwright. Yea, sounds like Baseball as usual.
  4. Cubs win! The team K's way too much so far but overall, I will take 9-7 considering they're so young.
  5. This team hasn't even scratched the surface yet. 8-)
  6. As far as the reversal on Bryant, another Bryant got screwed, too. Now, that's how we do ninth innings with this team! Hold this lead, please.
  7. Good thing Javy is going to have the entire off season to get his head on straight. Hate to see him look so clueless up there.
  8. So the Cubs have gone 4-2 against the two top teams in the division. That's with no Rizzo, a couple kids getting their Baseball baptisms(Baez/Alcantara)and some other kid named Bryant who was told to take his ball and go home for the year. Oh, this Soler is pretty good.
  9. Baez is pressing. The fact Soler has come up and lit everyone up has to make Javy want to do that much more.
  10. as much as i want to say you're crazy, i definitely have a lot more confidence in them winning on a day to day basis when i watch games than i have for years now. now just get rizzo in the lineup jerks I hear ya. Almost there being the key word. Depending on what we add in the off season pitching wise will determine if I'm definitely there.
  11. I am almost to the point where I was in 2008 in that I now expect the Cubs to win. The big difference is that now I can expect it for a decade.
  12. http://www.walkoffwalk.com/wow.diehardcardsfan.jpg
  13. Back to back! Suck it, Cardinals! You are not worthy of our presence.
  14. Baby steps. Baez has whiffed only once in his last 6 at bats. Needs to keep that pace up.
  15. Easily safe. 2-0 Cubs after this gets overturned.
  16. I know I'm probably analyzing this far too much, but could it be that the Cubs brought up Javier to showcase him for 2 months? Everyone knows Baez starts off slow at every level and then goes bananas. Could it be that Theo and Jed are banking on this pattern to continue so that when he puts up huge numbers in September, he's the center piece for a Stanton deal if Miami decides to move him? Again, I fully realize I'm probably analyzing this way too much.
  17. In an interview with Yahoo Sports on Monday night, Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton fired some mild shots at his team’s front office despite the club’s unlikely postseason chase in 2014. “Five months,” he said, “doesn’t change five years.”… “We’ve definitely done better than anyone thought we would do,” Stanton said. “At the same time, we’re still not where we need to be to keep playing beyond the designed schedule. …I want to be the only game on TV at the end of the day.” Come to Chicago, Giancarlo. You'll be playing in the post season every year shortly.
  18. Junior Lake and Logan Watkins. Done and you'll like it, Miami.
  19. Furthermore, Buster, at what cost? Russell and Soler? Pass.
  20. Mods: Forgive me if this has been posted as I couldn't find it in other sections of NSBB. http://nesn.com/2014/08/buster-olney-cubs-could-create-best-trade-package-for-giancarlo-stanton/ “The team viewed as the favorite absolutely is the Chicago Cubs,” Olney said Wednesday on WEEI’s “Middays with MFB,” “because they are just so loaded with position prospects, and if at any point they stick their elbows out, the Red Sox or any other team are probably going to have a hard time matching what the Cubs could put together for him.”
  21. Stanton will cost Russell at a minimum. If we get him, great. If not, we add Russell to this bananas core of hitters. Smiling ear to ear either way.
  22. And nary a mention of Addison Russell joining in on the fun. He's some prospect I hear we have?
