  1. It's a little premature for that comparison. I understand and I only say it half seriously. That said, Garza to the Rangers has been talked about going back to last year, so it's been pretty played out.
  2. This is starting to remind me of the Brian Roberts supposed trade to the Cubs. It went on and on all off-season and never happened.
  3. He has now. And apparently Bowden wasn't even correct about that. Bowden is Borat. He has no idea what he's saying. http://www.failking.com/img5/23925-borat-ftw_w.jpg
  4. Ahhh, right on time. This "source" is clearly a planted one. Theo and Jed were on the phone with Texas and said: "Hang on, Jon (Daniels)we have a call.. Hey, Jon, I have to call you back, I have a club ready to make a substantial offer". Click.
  5. I thought Randy Galloway was their Phil. Yeah, maybe he's more like the Sullivan, but dumber. These are four goofy looking dudes. Need pictures.
  6. I'm hearing Perez/Profar/Feliz for Garza/Castro/Rizzo. More info coming soon. Sweeney extension in the works, will man first base. I knew that was the case!! Good reporting! http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/JuricksonProfarSpeedo.jpg
  7. Tim Cowlishaw of the Dallas Morning News yesterday on Profar: He's definitely less than he was hyped to be, but that's neither a surprise nor his fault. The Rangers do a masterful job of selling Baseball America on their prospects, and as a result some of them get overhyped. That's not a bad thing to do, by the way. All it took was convincing one team to believe in how Justin Smoak was hyped and the next thing you know, Cliff Lee's starting Game 1 of the World Series in a Rangers uniform. I think Profar is going to be a good switch-hitting middle infield player with average power for those spots, maybe 20 HRs at the tops. He's a better long term prospect than Elvis, but Elvis is no longer trade bait with his $120 million deal, so chances are that Profar gets dealt this winter if not sooner. So lets just add him to the deal and be done, Texas.
  8. @thekapman:Fresh off the press: AL scout I trust says "Rangers can't afford to not make this deal. That's a great position to be in for Theo and Jed."
  9. The Cubs and Rangers will likely agree to a four player deal, with Garza and Soriano going to Texas (Berkman is on the DL and Murphy has not done much). The Rangers will include Martin Perez and Mike Olt. At the last minute, Sori will go all Fred McGriff on us and nix the deal. By the time Sori changes his mind, the Rangers will say: Too late. [-X
  10. Theo just got about 5 calls this inning and as soon as he answered he heard: "Uhh, no thanks".
  11. That sound you hear is Gregg's trade value going down the toilet.
  12. I actually kind of like that. http://townhall.mednet.ucla.edu/hs_news/mar2011/images/_walk_for_kids.jpg Shulman and Hersheiser sounded like they wanted to cry after the Cubs tied it.
  13. And what's with every Cardinals pitcher rocking Ronald McDonald's socks?
