Tim Cowlishaw of the Dallas Morning News yesterday on Profar: He's definitely less than he was hyped to be, but that's neither a surprise nor his fault. The Rangers do a masterful job of selling Baseball America on their prospects, and as a result some of them get overhyped. That's not a bad thing to do, by the way. All it took was convincing one team to believe in how Justin Smoak was hyped and the next thing you know, Cliff Lee's starting Game 1 of the World Series in a Rangers uniform. I think Profar is going to be a good switch-hitting middle infield player with average power for those spots, maybe 20 HRs at the tops. He's a better long term prospect than Elvis, but Elvis is no longer trade bait with his $120 million deal, so chances are that Profar gets dealt this winter if not sooner. So lets just add him to the deal and be done, Texas.
