Get an affiliate deal done with Indiana, Central/Southern Illinois, Iowa etc. Show the select games on the local PBS station or something. I'm sure the ratings would be better than what they've been.
They still haven't made the signing official which I find odd. Do they still have to work on the contract details maybe? I assume a PC will be Monday or Tuesday though.
The big concern I have with the upcoming network is carriage rights. Go look at what's happening in LA with Time Warner Sports and what happened in Houston with Comcast SportsNet Houston. They got huge deals done and couldn't get deals done with the cable/satellite providers and a ton of people are left in the dark and not able to watch. I hope to God the Cubs get deals done before launching the network or else it could get ugly here.
Apparently Kromer was the one that told Rapport about Cutler: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-biggs-aaron-kromer-bears-spt-1212-20141211-story.html What a disaster of a team.
I don't think Wittenmeyer has any reliable sources and just throws [expletive] at the wall at this point. He had the Giants as favorites about 30 minutes before they dropped out.
Travis Wood in Texas? That would be fun bad. Remember when people thought Jon Daniels was an elite FO guy. LOL. My friend who was working with the Reds (and is no longer with them) was drooling over him 2 years ago at the SABR conference. That was short lived. To be fair, they got murdered by injuries last season which completely decimated their season from the beginning. Still that Garza and Prince deal is just awful right now.
