How are the White Sox even close to having the "best offseason is baseball?" If they add Shark, they're by far the lead dog. Especially for what they're giving up for him.
Shark is dead set on testing FA next year (as he should). I hope Billy fleeces Hahn. That being said, the Sox should have a tough rotation. Sounds like the White Sox aren't giving up anything of substance in a deal.
Pressure on the Cubs now. Huh? Who the heck cares what the White Sox do? You don't think hell will be raised if the White Sox had the best offseason in baseball and the Cubs did nothing..again?
No it was Montero and Bauer http://archive.azcentral.com/sports/diamondbacks/articles/20120706chemistry-between-miguel-montero-trevor-bauer-off-slow-start-arizona-diamondbacks.html http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/02/12/miguel-montero-on-trevor-bauer-he-never-wanted-to-listen/ And I have no problem with any of these quotes FWIW.
RT @Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: #DBacks would receive pitching prospects from #Cubs for Montero. RT @JeffPassan: Cubs and Diamondbacks are indeed talking about Miguel Montero, as @jonmorosi and @Ken_Rosenthal reported. Arizona return wouldn't be big.
Considering it's Bowden, that definitely means it's true. Bowden is just parroting what Lester's agent is saying. I trust Rosenthal over Lester's agent just because the agent is going to try to keep as many teams as possible in until the end.
I would guess somewhere around where Scott Feldman got last offseason with the Astros (3/30). Deal was front-loaded too (12, 10, 8) Holy crap I hope it's not that much. I'd be guessing 3/33
Acquiring 3 SPs would make the Wada and Wood signings look real silly. Likely, 1 of them isn't going to make the rotation. Both will probably battle for the 5th spot in Spring Training. Neither is making much money to care though.
