    If the Bears don’t want to invest in Byard at his age, I wonder if Wright could become a free safety. They definitely can’t afford Wright and Byard.

    You don’t lead the NFC by default. Yes, the d line is not good, but no one has a perfect roster, even conference leaders.

    What’s incredible is that this year isn’t even a down year for Dayo. This is basically what he is.

    Sorry, you aren’t leading the NFC with a mid tier roster. I know you don’t want to go back on your criticism of Poles, and some of it was warranted, but this is a better team than you think. Good coaching brings out the talent.

    The good thing is that the Bears don’t have that many holes to fill. Right now I think the Bears only have $12 million of cap space and Dayo has a $22 million cap hit and dead money next year. Re-signing Byard for $15-20 million and getting another pass rusher are the only holes.

    I’ve been thinking about this. That was a great win, but I’d put these up there: -Last season’s final game against the Packers in Green Bay. The Bears needed to win to give them confidence headed into this season. -2018 Thanksgiving Day game in Detroit against the Lions. -2010 against the Vikings at TCF Bank Stadium when Wooten ended Brett Favre’s career. -2006 against the Cardinals “The Bears are who we thought they were!”

    Most weeks there are 1 or 2 games worth watching in the major conferences? No way, there’s more than that.

    Eberflus, Turner, Claypool, Taylor (where he was drafted), Everett, Shelton, Pickens, and Davis were the relatively big misses that I can remember, but yes lately Poles has been on a roll

    Both Wrights, Trapilo, Dalman, Benedet, Monangai, Swift, Williams, Moore, Jackson, Thuney, Burden, Odunze, Loveland, Byard, Brisker, Stevenson, Gordon, and Sweat have all been hits. We can finally say Poles has had a lot more hits than misses. Every GM is going to have misses, but he’s finally hitting on many more.
