  1. It's about evaluating both at the ML level and getting to work with them personally on an every day basis. There's not much to gain at this point from keeping them in Iowa, especially Jackson.
  2. I'm pretty sure no one excepted him to hit his ceiling in his rookie year. The guy has a 185 OPS+. [expletive] unreal.
  3. This would be a pretty good troll. And Brett's not on the 40-man yet, so doesn't that mean someone has to get DFA'd?
  4. Was just thinking last night, I hope to all hell they do SOMETHING with Garza over the winter. Trade or extension. My balls can't get any bluer here.
  5. I have never, ever, ever been a fan of AJ Pollock (hated the idea of drafting him that year, which a lot of Cubs fans on another site wanted), but ... as intriguing as Villanueva is, I'd rather take the mid-rotation lefty, considering the state of pitching in the system. I mean, I can understand wanting Villanueva, but I still have a hard time over-looking the fact that, while he was a top 100 guy, his offensive outlooks is very similar to someone like Alcantara, and the value of a lefty arm like Corbin would seem to be a nice thing for our system, the way it is right now. Corbin is hardly a lock to be a mid-rotation lefty. Plenty of people see him as a back-end guy.
  6. Tayler Scott got 16 outs, 13 on the ground.
  7. pretty sure Cardenas is a butcher in the field.
  8. Jesus, Loosen is getting destroyed.
  9. Yeah, all joking aside about Saunders, he was holding his own in Daytona. Maybe they want him to get regular ABs?
  10. According to the press release from Daytona, he'll be available for tonight's game.
  11. doesn't a guy have to be in AA at the end of the year to play in the AFL?
  12. I'd rather have Villanueva and Hendricks than Corbin and Pollock.
  13. Garza to Arizona for Corbin and Pollock Jim Bowden, lol.
  14. Mesa is still more interesting. Hmm. True.
  15. I think it was some sort of leg injury. I asked whoever runs the Daytona twitter feed if he would be back soon, but all they said was he was still in AZ rehabbing.
  16. And Daytona has now gone from least interesting to most awesome minor league affiliate in like a week.
  17. Thank you to Brett from the most excellent bleachernation.com for alerting me to this video: http://boysofspring.com/the-future-is-here-2
  18. Josh Reddick's walk-up music is the old school Stone Cold Steve Austin entrance music. Amazing.
