  1. They've been blown out by three un-ranked teams in their last 10. They're 19th in the Pomeroy rankings. They shouldn't be a 2 or a 3.
  2. Painter played all eleven scholarship players that could play today. OSU played 7. OSU had the free throw advantage 29 to 18. E'Twaun Moore for 38. Unbelievable.
  3. Boiler the [expletive] up! AND WE DIDN'T STORM THE COURT.
  4. lol, we're going to have two MWC teams in the top 5...
  5. I had to clear all my internet history/cookies, etc. to get it to start loading again properly.
  6. Their only home conference loss was a 4 point loss to Michigan. Meanwhile, on the road, they're getting totally skunked. No idea what will happen in the conference tourney. Probably skunked You didn't get skunked in West Lafayette. Holy [expletive]. Is DePaul going to win a Big East game?
  7. Yeah, I'm figuring they'll be top 100 myself. With a scholarship to go for 13', I'm hoping for Alex Foster. That would be huge. Rumor has it that Purdue is still going for Hammons in 12', but I don't like forcing guys out. If someone leaves on their own accord that's a different story. At any rate, Painter has kept the ball rolling. Next year is going to be a step back for sure. You can't lose an All-American in JJ and maybe a 2nd team All-American in E'Twaun without taking a big step back.
  8. If you count ESPN's midwest biased early rankings.... that's three top 50 players for Purdue already in 2013. Long way to go, but Painter is building his second big class.
  9. Purdue gets a commit from their third 4-Star 2013 recruit Basil Smotherman and beats #10 Wisconsin. Great day to be a Boiler!
  10. Let's go Sparty!
  11. I'm sure that DePaul didn't really have a strong shot of getting him, but damn you for stealing him away from DePaul. We need him a lot more than you! I was looking at some recruiting stuff last night and DePaul has a bunch of offers out to top players. Stephens had ties to Purdue and Weber so I think it was always going to be one of the two. Is DePaul ever going to get an arena on campus? Have you ever been to Lincoln Park? Not happening unless they want to buy about 100 multi million dollar properties, have them rezoned, and have a bunch of millionaires agree to it. Maybe something by the Kennedy between North and Fullerton, but not technically on campus. Yeah, I used to live in Lincoln Park... "The Finkl Steel Company is relocating to the south side of Chicago and their current location at Clybourn and Cortland is within walking distance of DePaul's Lincoln Park campus. An 8,000-10,000 seat arena is something that the university higher ups are considering. Real estate experts that I contacted today told me that the Finkl property is intriguing because it may not be suitable for residential use due to In addition, a recent post in a Chicago real estate blog TheChicago77.com discussed the Finkl property as it relates to DePaul University. The site says: The Finkl & Sons site is located on the east bank of The Chicago River at Southport Ave, and Cortland Street within steps of DePaul's main campus and due to its heavy industrial use over the past 100 years the site is believed to be to contaminated for many real estate re adaptations. So it seems the current thinking is that instead of removing all the over-sized foundations so closely positioned by the rivers edge that it might be far simpler and safer to just remove all the top soil, pave over the site and any possible contamination." http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/david-kaplan-chicago-sports/depaul-basketball/#ixzz1E2pdXsSq I just never heard anything else about this...

  13. 2013 SG Kendall Stephens committed to Purdue today (he had offers from Illinois, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and DePaul). Interesting coming a day after Purdue beat Illinois. PG Bryson Scott had already committed for 2013. I believe they'll both be 4 Star guys. Stephens' dad played for Purdue too... I'm sure that didn't hurt...
  14. Iowa is already represented, and Brody wasn't all that dirty. Greg Brunner Seth Gorney?
  15. Brian Cardinal has made $40 million playing pro ball over the last decade, averaging 5.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
  16. As I said, you'll have to explain that one to me. he looks like a bitch because he wears that fairy facemask, ok? At least he's not this guy. http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_ncaab_experts__22/ept_sports_ncaab_experts-182862495-1290458342.jpg?ymmjGIEDVDjF3NS1
  17. No, I don't. (And they're not as bad as Duke) I can't stand when a team plays aggressive defense and hold and grabs a lot, but then the fans bitch when they are called for a foul or when the other team tries to do the same to them. It seems to be a quality shared by PU and Duke fans. You're upset that a student section reacts to fouls against their team? Think about how irrational that is for a second. Do you really expect them all to just quietly sit down following a foul? There's always going to be a double standard no matter what team we're talking about. Just because Purdue tends to play aggressive defense with a lot of contact means their students need to act differently? I don't mid some reaction. I hate how evertime a foul is called on Purdue they were cheated. Hell smack thought you were getting hosed today. It is ridiculous. you get called for more fouls because your guys hack. Haha, the Illini fans on this board cry about the refs more than the Paint Crew ever will. I make one comment because I saw some things I thought were missed and thats all you guys talk about. The hypocrisy is epic. Go back and read this thread. Sully and SSR have more posts bitching about Illinois getting fucked by refs than I've got posts, period. In all the threads I've ever posted in.
  18. lol
  19. Iowa might break the record for 3-point attempts tonight.
  20. Yeah, because a guy that claims Purdue is the best program is in Big Ten history is what I am. Keep grasping... Yeah, that's not what I was saying at all. There is a lot of residual Purdue hate here because of cubbiebum. He left a lasting impression, I think. He definitely gave Purdue fans a shitty image.
  21. I agree. Next year is going to be very important. If the wheels come off, the momentum that's been built over the last four years will be seriously damaged. Hummel being hurt has taken Purdue out of the title hunt this year, but will help Purdue transition to new leaders next year. I guess that's probably the only positive you can draw from his injury.

  23. Are you talking about Jay Simpson? What makes him a two star prospect in your book and why does Rivals have him rated as 4 stars? Also, is Raphael Davis a sub 4 star prospect in your eyes too? Plus, Purdue has made the last two Sweet Sixteens (lost to champion Duke and Final Four team UCONN). Purdue has won at least a game in the tourney the last four years. Illinois hasn't won a game in the tourney since 2006. Yeah, but I'm not about to go spouting off. I'm not thrilled about Purdue's chances this year in the tourney. Johnson is almost guaranteed to get his points, but one mediocre shooting game from Moore and they could be upset in the second round. They lean so much on those two. It just kills me to know they could have Scott Martin and Hummel pitching in 10-15 points per game and 5-7 rebounds per game each. Completely agreed. If JJ or E'Twaun have a bad game we could be one and done. I was just objecting to the characterization that its our MO to be one and done.

Illinois hasn't won a game in the tourney since 2006. No one argued Purdue isn't a better program right now. They clearly are. Unless Purdue beats OSU at Makcey, this road win at Illinois is going to be our signature win of the season. I think that clearly puts us at the same level as far as programs. I just don't get the Purdue hate.
