  1. Did your cousin marry this guy's sister or did your cousin and this guy marry a pair of sisters?
  2. ...and Wood. Why the hell not? Let's just get really [expletive] bad while we can He's got 2.5 years left. It wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world at this point, because we don't seem to be in any sort of hurry to open our window. Of course, we'd have 3.5 years left if they'd have waited one more week to bring him up in 2012. We may need to consider moving Rizzo and Castro to make room for the troutlike arismendy alcantara mega-deal.
  3. Blazers Rockets, and Clips Warriors are gonna be awesome.
  4. I'm skeptical. I respect that. Im just positing that the moves that Rick made in that cardinals game last Friday where made on purpose and with the goal of improving the cubs chances to win the game. And because of that, and in my opinion there really isn’t any ambiguity left, he cannot be anything but a bad manager.
  5. Rick renteria's in game moves are indicative of renteria's best efforts to win games. When he calls for a bunt, it’s because he thinks a bunt will make winning the game more likely.
  6. Because the trade did not "work out great for the cubs" as theo stated. Maybe the guy we got for him contributes, maybe not. He not a top prospect now, maybe he could become one. I dont understand how the deal worked out great for the cubs.
  7. I was particularly infuriated when I read the two articles on Soriano yesterday. One where they talked about how awesome Soriano is with young players and one where Theo talked about how the Soriano trade worked out great for both teams.
  8. There's a pretty good starter for the A's on that list. And a guy who may be an OK major leaguer in Iglesias. And Rizzo. Not bad for you picking out one year in an attempt to make them look bad against what sneaky posted. I picked that year because Theo has been in control for 5+ years and they still had their prospects that were moved for AGon. Was not trying to cherrypick a bad year. If I took the next year it would look worse because Rizzo isnt on the list. I found the other guys post which listed some major leaguers and then said "all epstein prospects pan out" QED to be an oversimplification of things.
  9. Baseball Prospectus Red Sox Top 11 November 12, 2009 Five-Star Prospects 1. Ryan Westmoreland, CF 2. Casey Kelly RHP/SS Four-Star Prospects 3. Josh Reddick, OF 4. Ryan Kalish, OF Three-Star Prospects 5. Anthony Rizzo, 1B 6. Jose Iglesias, SS 7. Junichi Tazawa, RHP 8. Michael Bowden, RHP 9. Lars Anderson, 1B 10. Reymond Fuentes, CF 11. Derrik Gibson, 2B/SS They are either out of baseball, not working out for the padres, not working out for us or Rizzo.
  10. Wait, who was the 4th besides the members of Run TMC? Sarunas Marciulionis.... he's inducted in this year as well. Yes. And it seems like the splash brothers, togerther with Lee/Bogut/Iggy may be doing more.
  11. Thanks for the breakdown. I guess i prefer Bulls/Wiz because we just burried them but Im fine with the Nets. If the Heat have to go Bobcats-Nets en route to the ECF they will be beat down. Even charlotte is a tough out Al Jeff is an elite interior scorer and they have some solid perimeter defenders. So That could be a 5-6 game series and I think most people feel like the Nets have a shot in a series vs the Heat. If we can take care of our business, D Wade might be a corpse by the ECF. The problem I have with the heat is Bosh. We do not match up well with a versatile frontcourt player on a team that has guards who can get to the basket. Bosh's jumper could eat us alive. I guess Garnett is the same way but the nets are such a disorganized mess they wont properly utilize him.
  12. That is the dream scenario. A legit shot at the ECF and the Heat are certainly vulnerable, especially if they have to go through Brooklyn LeBron James dies. As great as Lebron is I think we have a punchers chance and many teams have a legit chance to take out the heat.
  13. You actually think the Nets are purposely losing to avoid the Bulls? I don't know their motivations for anything but "tanking for the 6 seed" was a story today. Turns out they played their guys tonight and lost anyway, but the story was they were gonna shut down 6 guys for their last two games. If that had actually been the case wouldn't you also surmise they were comfortable slipping to the 6 seed?
  14. If the nets purposely lose two games I have absolutely no respect for that approach. The raps are good. As good as the bulls. Doesn't everybody get 3 days off Before the playoffs?
  15. Didn't see the game tonight and I realize it wasn't against a real nba team but Jimmer erupted for 17.
  16. I dont know much about any of the incoming rookies but I want a big guard who can shoot. I want jimmy buckets to become expendable and to potentially replace him with a better shooter.
  17. Which is great because this guy can actually help us if we move one of taj or booz and even the departure of Nazr. Looks like the rockets invested a lot into him and they are a pretty smart franchise.
  18. I want to go back to the day we signed anibel sanchez.
  19. So we probably get the Nets again in round 1. two very different squads this year. The nets are gonna be very, very tough. Would be great for Noah and Kirk to get a series win against Pierce/Garnett. Was Thibs on the celtics during that series or not there yet? Regardless, as far as matchups go, going up against brooklyn, potentially winning and playing the pacers, and potentially winning that series and getting the heat would just be awesome. Its gonna be a coinflip against the nets but still i think this bulls team is significantly better than last years team and we played well in the playoffs. The nba playoff are great. The western conference has 4 great series, which basically starts tomorrow because of the memphis-dallas-suns games. Id like to see memphis win out and get the 7 seed and dallas get the 8. that would be: SA - Dallas OKC - Memphis LAC - GSW HOU - POR All four are basically dream scenarios for fans and the subsequent rounds get even better. I think Ill pick LAC - HOU in the WCF and Bulls - Heat in the ECF. LAC - Heat in the finals. Unless rose comes back on wednesday.
  20. Id rather get the 3 seed and enjoy the raps nets series while we beat the wiz in a hopefully short series. The heat aren't exactly on fire either.
  21. Pulling for Fowler at this point. Really impressive for Jimenez and Fowler to play back into it. Will be fun tomorrow tons of guys have a chance.
  22. If the bulls had an all star level d rose on this years team we would be the 1 seed in the east and would absolutely contend. How can you possibly say otherwise. And why does being in a bad conference have to do with anything? The bulls have a harder road to the finals than anybody in the west they need to get through the 2 time nba champions. Being in te east make it easier to get to the second round not the finals.
