  1. Its Ca$hner, Jackson, and Carpenter day!
  2. I think its Ca$hner and Jackson day
  3. I was shocked when I found out that J JAX was black and even more shocked when I found out B Jax was white.. complete nonsense.. :-)) :-))
  4. Didnt really know where to put this so i will throw it here, but i really think Castro if he ahs a good to solid spring will break camp with the team.. I can really see Lou becoming infatuated with this kid... I am really excited
  5. From BA's ask BA Feb 15th. Nice. Like it.
  6. B Jax just missed his list with Keith's quote being something along the lines of "is he the guy he was in college or the guy we saw in pro ball. If hes the guy in pro ball he will be extremely high and the Cubs got a steal" I love the reports on Vitters and Castro. He aslo just said in his chat that he thinks Kyler Burke will hit enough to make the show
  7. Baseball America had their NL team that didnt make the top ten lists. Kyler Burke RF Antigua LHS Gaub LHP http://www.baseballamerica.com/online/prospects/column/2009/269248.html How did we get Antigua again?
  8. I think we did pretty good on the DeRosa trade. Espescially since he is a type B. Good job Jim. :good:
  9. I have a baseball America account.. Mods please let me know what is approporiate and what is not
  10. So I have thought about this now for about 5 hours at work and here are my thoughts on the issue. 1. I am really shocked to see so many people are so down on Marmol. I consider him a crucial part of this team and would not include him as part of a deal unless it was a superduper star. 2. I dont consider Granderson to be a superduper star. I consider him to be a very good player. But not one that I would unload the house for. 3. That being said I really like his contract and the fact that he mashes Righties. 4. I am not happy with his lefty split situation, and I am pretty sure that Keith Laws view that he is a platoon player is correct. OPS around .500 is just not good 5. That being said there arent too many lefty starters in the NL central outside of Pittsburgh. 6. My offer would be Vitters and a Gaub/Burke/Flaherty type. Or give Ryan Theriot up. 7. Giving up Theriot would be excellent since then we wouldnt have him playing SS and we wouldnt just slide him over to Second Base when Castro is ready. My biggest fear) 8. I really hope we don't overpay
  11. Count me in the camp that doesnt trade Castro for Grnaderson. Espescially not Marmol and Castro for Granderson. No way.
  12. from Callis's chat Interesting stuff as always
  13. Excellent article! The hype just keeps on coming.
  14. Here is my thinking and i am more bullish on him than just about anyone but, "what if he always hits? There is nothing to really suggest he will stop hitting and the fact that he is doing this when he is super young for his league makes it even more impressive. Also from all accounts the range at short is 60-70 (granted more say 60) with a solid consensus on a 70 arm. That is extremely valuable. I am also not worried about the power since everyone seems to project that he will gain about 30-40 pounds. He is also an efficent base stealer and doesnt strike out. No real red flags with this one. I for one am super excited. Wouldnt be surprised to see him sneak into Callis or Law's top 20's. I think Callis implied he would be extremely high the other day. Its also nice to pretty much have the consensus best SS prospect in the minors. Our system might be the most improved outside of maybe Washington in the past year.
  15. So we either have Jeter or Han Ram.... Damn it feels good to hit the lottery. Also feels good to have the best SS in the minors. And i actually think he hits his ceiling. This kid wont stop hitting. He is special. For long time posters whats the deal with posting David Grey's take on Vitters and Parker. It is a little longer... Fair or foul
  16. From Callis today Nothing new but I am pretty excited about Castro
  17. No HJ Lee? i knew i forgot someone.. put Hak after $ and Rhee above DJ to truffle.. I think he will be very good defensively based ont he scouts reports i have seen. I am very excited
  18. My answer to all the comments and i like the discussion is the following: we have a potential amazing defensive shortstop on our hand. Arguably the hardest position to play on the diamond. I read every single law chat and every single ba chat. I have never seen law build up a prospect like this except the elite ones. The fact that he squares everything up and shows the potential for solid power is what gets me. From my subjective reading my interpretation is that he can hit any ball square on the nose and can drive it too. I think we are looking at a better prospect than andrus and with the right conditioning and hitting coach we could be looking at an amazing player. I think he has solidified himself as top 30 and maybe best SS prospect in minors. I cant think of anyone else off the top of my head. Discuss. Also my top ten while we are discusiing callis's comments Castro Vitters Bjax Jjax $ Carpenter Burke Flaherty Lemaeihu Rhee
  19. from Keith laws AFL report WOW.. I am really intrigued by this kid... Han Ram the second if he fills out maybe?
  20. + 1 I think he will develop more power and i think he is by far our best prospect
  21. vitters 3-4 as of right now. Keith laW also tweeted Gaub touched 95... I think Castro will be top 50 maybe top 30..
  22. castro 1-1 with a double
  23. castro starting at SS tonight Vitters at 3rd and Castillo behind the plate
