  1. I'm not so sure he's going to be in baseball much longer. His best days are behind him.
  2. I'll get ripped for this but bringing Dempster back at the money the Cubs paid was not a good idea. Last year was nice but how many people thought he'd repeat it?
  3. Sans the Theriot brain fart, that was a productive inning.
  4. Bob seems negative tonight. I know the team is slumping, but he's usually the bright ray of sun.
  5. Eeek! So Theriot decides to go to 3rd there. #-o
  6. The clean shaven, aerodynamic Reed Johnson will return to 2008 form.
  7. "It's just like a daycare center." Brenly on when sickness spreads in the clubhouse. :-))
  8. I agree Freel is a better option than Gathright but that isn't saying much. He's 3-25 this season and Gathright is 3-14.
  9. It's not Lou's fault. If you want to point fingers you can point right at Jim Hendry for putting together one of the worst benches in recent Cub history, and a bad bullpen. Once the injuries hit the bench was exposed. Lou may made some head scratching moves, but he's not to blame for the season.
  10. I hated this signing from Day 1 and nothing has happened so far to change my mind. What a worthless "addition" to the team.
  11. If the Cubs miss the playoffs Hendry should be gone. Signing Miles alone should have been grounds.
  12. Fontenot is not an everyday player and it's showing. He's much better coming off the bench or getting spot starts. I know Lou wanted him to get AB's this year but that experience needs to stop. The bench does stink though so he'll probably keep playing, to my dismay.
  13. Vitters would get eaten alive in the majors right now. No need to ruin his confidence or his future. I agree the 3B situation is a mess with ARam out, but Vitters isn't the answer. He's a prospect who's only 19 and is a few years away. He will be up in time, but that time isn't now. Until then we can only pray for the 3B spot.
  14. The boo birds will be out in full force tonight just waiting for slip ups or poor plate appearances. I don't endorse it, but understand they will rain displeasure upon the field when their feathers are ruffled. Just score runs damn it. The starting pitching has been good enough thus far.
  15. I didn't mind the Bradley signing at first (I wanted Dunn first however), but his attitude is starting to get to me. Throw in the obvious struggles and the word bust comes into my mind. He's got time to turn it around but he needs to shut his mouth and hit. I understand he's always been had a combustible personality, but he'd better tone it down.
