  1. Miller throwing so many pitches in the Kluber Game is good. Tire him out when they'll probably need him most. And, wow, Schwarber has taken some great ABs. Has he swung at one ball out of the zone? He's showing a great eye against two of the toughest pitchers on the planet. And he hit the piss out of one ball. How is this possible?
  2. Quick, someone call them gutless, choking dogs so we can ban you and turn the series around.
  3. Schwarber is donging. So some guys better get on in front of him.
  4. You know what time it is. http://mlb.mlb.com/images/1/1/6/154439116/101315_nlds_schwarber_homerun_statcast_medres_bq4qks7r.gif
  5. Let's no all turn into ninnies for the 15th time this post-season. We got this. Schwarber is here to save the day.
  6. Just give me a Schwarber homer tonight, please. I've never felt entitled to anything as a baseball fan before. But I need this.
  7. It's about to get real. Time for Big Jon to continue his march through the playoffs. Keep the speedsters off the base, and they'll be lucky to get one off of him. Let's get the bats going early and cruise to the W.
  8. Dave Cameron is so blindly obtuse when it comes to Schwarber. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned Cameron. But the whole premise behind him being an advocate for trading Schwarber was because Schwarber couldn't help this year. He went through his whole spiel about Schwarber being overrated. And then he ran some numbers and found that Schwarber was much more valuable, even after heavily discounting future value. But the Cubs should still trade him, anyway, because... reasons. From his article: Oh, the irony.
  9. The BCB logo looks like some kind of twisted, inflamed testicle. SB comment sections are baffling. That's all I have to add to this nonsense. Who is Al Yellon & does anybody have links to some of Vlahos' asshat posts. That guy is terrible, actively rooying for Addison Russell to be a bust cause we dared trade Shark for him. Al Yellon is the head writer for Bleed Cubbie Blue, the Cubs' SB Nation site. He is a moron. And, apparently, while being an idiot on twitter, Vlahos was also an idiot on Bleed Cubbie Blue, under the moniker "Not Bruce Froemming." Here is a sampling of his stupid thoughts, from the Samardzija trade thread over there: http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2014/7/4/5872043/cubs-trade-jeff-samardzija-jason-hammel-athletics After being told that Dan Straily is both of those things: So the part of the deal that he liked was the Dan Straily part and not the Addison Russell part.
  10. Oh man, this sent me down a rabbit hole looking through that moron Vlahos's posts on there. After thousands of posts (from what I can tell, all whining about Theo's "plan"), over years and years, his last post was on July 6, 2015. What a miserable person.
  11. The concern about his running on that double seems really silly to me. He said after his last game that he was just there for the ABs and running wasn't even a worry. The fact that he even bothered to go to second says enough to me.
  12. Yes, let's turn a thread about Kyle Schwarber returning to play for the Cubs in the World Series into an argument about the usefulness of exit velocity.
  13. Well, we're not going 7 anyway. So, yes, please make our sweep easier.
  14. Yes, and I'd list dozens of stats before I would even think of citing exit velocity. I'd never deny this, the stuff I took out seems like common sense as well, and overall I still can't understand why I should really care about exit velocity, Exit velocity correlates pretty strongly to offensive success, particularly ISO. It's kind of important to hit the ball hard.
  15. First pitch he sees tomorrow: http://mlb.mlb.com/images/1/1/6/154439116/101315_nlds_schwarber_homerun_statcast_medres_bq4qks7r.gif
  16. Do you think Giancarlo Stanton is a good hitter?
  17. I'm down for him hitting second. He's going to be the World Series MVP, so we might as well put that bat up front.
  18. I'm going to miss Game 3. First World Series game at Wrigley in 71 years...
