Oh well good teams lose to less good teams. That said when you have a 2-0 lead on an injured matz 2 batters into the game and 2 of the next 3 opposing starters are deGrom and Syndergard you definitely want to try to win this one If they end up losing its more just disappointing because it felt like they really didn't have to lose. It wasn't bad luck or anything. It was just using a really shitty pitcher in a high leverage situation and then letting the shitty pitcher continue to pitch.

I feel like around the time Sosa started using roids his plate discipline also went up. He started walking a ton more, which I'm sure was also because he was hitting 60 homers, but he also seemed more patient with his toe tap thing.

makes total sense. he got on PEDs to be awesome at baseball, used them for a couple of years, then just decided to stop using them and become bad at baseball again. I honestly don't believe it in the slightest. But hypothetically, the accusation would absolutely be enough to get somebody to stop. If you're taking roids I'm pretty sure you don't start sucking the minute you stop. Also, if you're taking roids and know there is always a chance of getting caught you probably don't turn down long-term extensions that would guarantee you a hundred million dollars.
