  1. Also, why are we looking at numbers since the start of 2016?
  2. Sure sounds like we shouldn't be trailing them still in the standings then. But no worries. We will beat them by 10 games and be resting guys for the playoffs in the last week of the season.
  3. He didn't get an AB yesterday, they IBB'd him. Didn't he get one before that one?
  4. See, this is when things start to get taken out of context. As I have said several times, I do NOT think the Brewers are great. I do NOT think they would be doing anything in a different division. In this division this year, I simply think they have been the most impressive of the five teams. If that's heaping praise on them, I guess so be it. I just think they are the best team in a really embarrassing division that should have the Cubs leading by like 10 games right now. the cubs should be leading by 10 games but are not the best team in an embarrassing division... hmmm :-k The Cubs absolutely should be the best team. I have never thought otherwise. The fact that they have not been is simply shocking. Sometimes what is happening on the field does matter.
  5. I believe the Brewers have the best offense in the division this season. I believe that entering July, they have had the best starting rotation. I believe they have an awful bullpen except for their lights out closer and perhaps a small jolt with the call up of Josh Hader. I believe the Cubs should have by far and away the best team in the division this season. I also believe that I haven't come close to seeing that and have started to doubt it's going to come due to a season-long struggle in both the rotation and on offense. I can't really apologize for thinking this. It's just what I think. I urge you to not think I'm freaking out about this. We won the World Series last season, and so being totally distraught about the Cubs just isn't possible. do you realize how insane this post is given the fact that the brewers are 2 games up on the cubs? all that praise you're heaping on them and they are 2 games better than the team you are disappointed in. 6. you are back in full july 2015 PleaseWinCubs mode This is literally the first time I ever realized people -- or person -- even knows I exist on here or remember anything I've ever posted. Even in an insult, that actually was cool to read.
  7. I guess I'm still searching for that point during the season that what is happening on the field matters and is an indication of what to expect. April and May is too early, for sure. But I just struggle to know when the cut off is, even though there can't be an official one. Sometimes teams take off in July, sometimes they fade. Sometimes they don't do well from the start and stay that way. The Cubs have looked pretty much the same since the opening series against the Cards to me. I struggle at times trying to determine what that means. the brewers are like a game ahead of the cubs and have overachieved highly, while the cubs have underachieved across the board. this leads you to believe the brewers are the best team in the division and the most well rounded team? you are back in full july 2015 PleaseWinCubs mode I believe the Brewers have the best offense in the division this season. 8. He actually seems to be doing better recently, true?
  9. This is not true I guess I'm still searching for that point during the season that what is happening on the field matters and is an indication of what to expect. 10. Worry all you want about the Cubs turning things around, I might disagree but at least there's some logic to it. This chicken littling about the Brewers is just sad though. They are not good, they've had a multitude of things go incredibly well and they're even with the Cubs in the loss column. To belabor this point, everyone has been terribly disappointed with Arrieta, who has a 4.68 ERA entering tonight. Here's the Steamer rest of mseason predictions for the Brewers 5 best starters: Nelson: 4.56 Anderson: 4.66 Davies: 4.52 Garza: 5.00 Guerra: 4.93 Well, good for Steamer. But had we gone with what they probably predicted for the first two and a half months for both the Cubs and Brewers they were probably way wrong.
  11. Nobody ever claimed they would. But I don't think it's a stretch to say their rotation is better than ours. Any numbers or metrics you want to show will prove it. They are not good, they've had a multitude of things go incredibly well and they're even with the Cubs in the loss column. Again, I need to point out that I am not talking up their team like they are in the Nationals level of quality. If they were in a good division, they'd be nothing right now. But in this division, this year, they have the team that is most well-rounded. They don't have the depth to overcome many injuries, but their offense has absolutely been real and consistent even without Braun. The part they suck bad at is the bullpen before they get to Knebel. Be honest, have you even watched them or just assume they suck because they are supposed to? I wouldn't blame you for that. Now, all that said, I don't want to continue to disrupt the board with talking about some division team that nobody here even cares about. I apologize for that. I only started talking about it tonight because it was brought up.
  12. I'm pleased. But their offense is dangerous as hell. And their rotation is better than ours. And that's why the Brewers have run away with the division. Nobody ever claimed they would. But I don't think it's a stretch to say their rotation is better than ours. Any numbers or metrics you want to show will prove it.
  13. The Milwaukee rotation is Jimmy Nelson, a broom, the guy inside Bernie Brewer, the ghost of Bob Uecker, and Matt Garza's goatee. Even if that were true, he'd still be correct. Damn.
  14. Eh, at least Jake and Boras can claim he's a gamer for battling through an injury.
  15. I'm pleased. But their offense is dangerous as hell. And their rotation is better than ours.
  16. From Heyward to Heyward, I swear that all took 2 minutes.
  17. Schwarbs ran hard, though. To first and then home.
  18. Good hustle by Schwarber. Let's get an extra run.
  19. I think a few games or a week ago, Jon Jay needed contact and had a horrible at-bat where he struck out instead. Let's see if the young man learned anything from that and applies it here.
