  1. Yes, yes it is. Which is a bummer because I needed something interesting to get me through the afternoon. Does it affect Marshall's thought process at all to know he's got to pitch well with that crap lineup out there behind him? Hey I have a question...forgive me if this is off topic, but how do you watch the Cub games? I am moving to the St. Louis area this fall for grad school, and am wondering what my options are. Do you get MLB.TV or is there anyway to get CSN there. I would assume WGN is available (superstation). I know yesterday's GDT talked about blackouts and I wouldn't think that the Cubs are blacked out in the city. If you get mlb.tv you'll only be blacked out for Saturday afternoon games and Cardinals games. Obviously, you can watch the Cardinals broadcast then, though. Thank you I would have asked you too but didn't want to derail the thread. That is probably what I will be doing. I was planning on getting mlb.tv and can live with watching the Cards announcers for the Cubs-Cards games.

  3. Now that I know what this is from...I think it's even more creepy. Dunno if you've said what it's from yet tho, so I won't tell.
  4. I agree...it's very tempting to look at the horrid losses and key injuries and throw up your hands and say "season over" (and I'm just as tempted as anyone else...but I kinda feel like this is a "this too will pass" situation. The Cubs started very shaky in 2007 and the Cardinals started very good last year too, while the Cubs weren't bad, but weren't world beaters yet. I think once the hits start falling, the defense will relax a little, and everyone will get healthy. Cincy and Pitt will definitely not be in 2nd/3rd at season's end, and I really can't imagine the Cardinals can pixie dust this way all season. I think it may be rough for a while, but the wins will come. And it's April.
  5. I'm sure you saw this but Len and Bob said it would be scored a sac fly. I thought he said it wouldn't be scored a sac I thought he wasn't sure...?
  6. Brian Barden in...guess a little extra pixie dust was needed...
  7. The worst is that the last three starts (assuming Dempster is done or gives up no more runs, a questionable assumption) have been quality (I believe yesterday there was a fourth, unearned run), but the offense has been atrocious. Edit: not that this isn't common knowledge, but just makes it all the more painful.
  8. Sunday they were talking about that on Sports Central. I checked 720 to see if the game had been rained out, and sure enough they were talking about the Cardinals and pixie dust. I think it was basically how you don't want to trade for any player from the Cardinals because once you do, and that uniform is off of them...
  9. They're a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic, no? They're one more asinine comment away from the mute button, I know that much. Sometimes I think that if I were in baseball hell, Al Hrabowsky and Hawk Harrelson would be the announcing squad. My baseball hell announcing crew can be found Sunday nights on ESPN. Touché.

  11. Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. I am glad to be part of a Cubs community like this, especially since I'm starting grad school in St. Louis this fall. Didn't see if the full lineup has been posted, but it's: Theriot, Fuku, Sori, Rami, Lee, Fontenot, Soto, Johnson, Dempster http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2009/04/ryan-theriot-replacing-alfonso-soriano-leading-off-vs-cardinals.html
