  1. wasn't Erstad a kicker on a #1 ranked team?
  2. Darn, you two are good at this trivia thing!
  3. Thanks Bo for stopping by and adding to the NSBB site. Please stay in touch, maybe I'll start paying a little more attention to the A's minor league. Heck, I have family in Stockton. I'll go and see a few games, hopefully I'll be able to see you. Have a great time.
  4. I'm with you, right now I don't know of one score of one game of the playoffs. On the radio I'll hear "let's go Angels, kick some Yankee rear" every so often but that's about it. Come WS time I may watch some of the games if the teams involved are interesting. Honestly, I'm much more interested in the Winter Meetings and the Hotstove talk.
  5. Same here. It's getting difficult just tuning into a Chicago newscast or picking up a newspaper. Way too much White Sox stuff. The sooner they go away the better. White Sox against the Cardinals in the World Series. A glimpse of life in hell. I really liked that comic.
  6. 96-66 in 2003 91-71 in 2004 88-74 in 2005 After '03, he lost Miguel Tejada, Ramon Hernandez and Mark Ellis. After '04, he lost Tim Hudson, Mark Mulder, Mark Redman and Jermaine Dye I don't know if terrible or sucky would be the proper adjective for a guy working with a 55m payroll. Not to push this thread in a different direction but Seattle lost Randy Johnson, Alex Rodriguez, Tino Martinez, and Griffey Jr. and then went on to a 116-46 record. So yes it does make me think no one is worth 15 mil a year also.
  7. If everyone did that he'd win the Cy Young for sure next year.
  8. Good point. It's crossing my mind also. I hate feeling indifferent towards the Cubs but this season has been tough.
  9. Any guesses on what will happen when Modzilla sees this lineup?
  10. 36 hours and I'm saying under.
  11. Heh, out here, Nike University refers to the University of Oregon. The Washington Huskies come to Pasadena to take on UCLA this Saturday. Let's go Huskies!
  12. Thanks Fred for getting this up. I'm getting the feeling there wont be much posting in the thread, but Go Cubs!
  13. No doubt, thanks for replying though.
  14. Thanks Bruce. If we could have gotten Cedeno in at SS then I'd love today's lineup. But not bad. I just had a thought about all the Neifi appearances in the top of the order. Is it possible that some team wants Neifi but also wants a 1 or 2 hitter and the Cubs are showcasing him? Nah, I'm tired of coming up with reasons why Baker has him at 1 or 2 in the lineup. At this point I'm at a "whatever" frame of mind, as far as his decisions.
  15. Horrible that it's funny Vance. LMAO
  16. Is it just me or are there an inordinate amount of players on that small list that have played on the Cubs teams?
  17. Corey didn't swing on the first pitch?!?
  18. haha that's funny, walking the rookie to get to Patterson
  19. oops, y'all posted before I asked the question.
  20. what just happened? I'm on gameday and it says Macias is replacing Walker? So we'll have Neifi and Macias as the 1 2 batters? Is Walker hurt?
  21. Very Cool DJAXXFAN. I'll definately be looking forward to these installments over the winter.
  22. How about that? I checked and the Cubs are winning 3 to 0! Maybe I should be paying a lot less attention to the games. :-k
