  1. Wait...heavy and sweaty? I thought it was just sweaty. If it's heavy and sweaty, Hendry's just eating lunch.
  2. I'd probably describe it as the exact opposite of gross. Whatever that is.
  3. Hill still has ST to prove he has something left. His winter ball results give me zero hope, however. Ah well.
  4. Wow. I'm gonna take a dump and sell it on EBay. If this is the current market, my offer for it should come in around $250-300.
  5. He is also a Type A free agent I believe, so he would cost us picks. Yep. It's why I'm not high on the idea...but wouldn't complain. I've watched him out here in AZ...he's definitely gonna draw some cash on the FA market. I won't complain, but think money can be spent elsewhere. Bullpen $$ is typically a waste on the FA market if you ask me.
  6. They have Maybin. I doubt they want Pie. I'm pretty sure you don't need the first sentence of those two to make the second one true. I almost posted the exact same thing, then I noticed I initially misread the post as saying Pierre and not Pie. Pie's still not a bad prospect, but his star is definitely fading. Pretty much. We held on to him too long.

  8. Jerry Hairston JR fits that bill rather nicely he can play the outfield and SS/2B. He really hit well last season for the Reds it might have been a fluke but for a utility guy we could do a lot worse. The way the bench shapes out will have a lot to do who platoons with Fontento. He did have a good year last year...but I'd rather light my pubes on fire. Wanna be best friends? Anybody sporting an ATHF avatar is a friend of mine, especially ones who want to set their own pubes on fire.

  10. If we deal DeRo, we need to go after a utility IF AND a utility OF, especially if we sign Bradley. That guy is hurt more often than Mark Prior.
  11. There’s still one thing I wonder about with Vitters: the Padres already have two good 3B prospects in the minors if I remember correctly. I know Vitters isn’t a highly regarded 3B, but part of me still thinks the Pie to Baltimore for arm happens and that guy goes instead of Vitters.
  12. Basically, because Marquis and Peavy's contracts are pretty damn close aren't they? Almost offsetting? This year it is somewhat close...the Peavy contract is gonna hurt like hell at the backend though if he gets injured/sucks. It's backloaded like no other.
  13. Eating half of Marquis' contract sucks, but considering we once paid that amount to house the careers of Neifi Perez and Jose Macias...I think we can deal with it.
  14. Hermida- sounds good Kubel-sure Ryan Church-pass Randy Winn-megapass Luke Scott-ehh... Mark Teahen-only if it's cheap DeJesus-sign me up
  15. I've been one of the most vocal about keeping DeRosa, but if the deal is DeRosa, Marquis, Vitters, and Hart...you HAVE to do it. I hate losing DeRosa, but that's a fantastic deal. Think of it this way...if WE were looking to trade Peavy from our roster, would you deal him for that package? Hell no. So...as much as I want to keep DeRo, you have to do it. Have to.
  16. Not to ruin the fun, but Z has a full NTC. He isn't going anywhere.
  17. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print?id=3758577&type=blogEntry Padres are ready to move on this, Philles are ready to move on this, yet where not close. Only holdup is the Cubs at this point. Is it because Marquis isn't in this deal and has to be dealt first? well it looks like derosa is certainly involed. if the phils were only getting marquis back and had agreed upon it like Amaro says, then there obviously wouldn't the holdup of trying to move marquis. if we give up derosa we better not be giving up marshall too Agreed.
  18. That depends…are you encouraged when a woman hits on you at the bar, then starts making out with your friend, then tells you she likes you? Are you kidding? Sounds like someone I'd bring back to my apartment. Exactly.

  20. What channel? I have Bulls' pregame. They said at the end of the show he was talking to Hendry. Not on TV though. If that's the case, I doubt anything has happened.
  21. i think you have successfully covered every baseball cliche in this post. Bazooka Joe. NOW I've covered them all.
  22. Couldn't agree more. Hendry isn't a moron...if Guzman is the missing piece of these deal, he'd include him 10/10 times. I think it has more to do with what you said...he's probably being viewed as a solid MR piece this year, so his value is probably higher to us than to Towers.
  23. Our pitching is far from our strength when Marquis is on the mound. Compare Marquis and his stats to other #5 starters, and even many #4 starters, around MLB. He's not that bad. His problem isn't his ability, it's that he's overpaid.
  24. Just read those updates. Worried about dealing Guzman? We've been worried about dealing him away for the past 5 years now. Deal him, who cares.
