Unless it’s a throw away game after the division is clinched for the last weeks or vs select LHP it absolutely shouldn’t happen. But Joe filling out the lineup card putting them 1-2 even after looking at the stats showing better options...... -
Rickets should force them to go out for St Louis Pizza I mean these bums should be shamed and feel bad over their putrid performance the last 2 days but we don’t need to poison or kill them.

Does he have options left? Maybe move him to Iowa for 2-3 starts when Butler comes back to get some regular work to figure things out.

Jesse Rogers leading the Darvish bashing charge on twitter like the troll he is. I get he hasn't been good but it's weird to see a "professional" writer be so meatheaded and irrational. It's annoying but Darvish has always had some blowout starts ever since he's been in MLB. Last year he had 10 starts of 5 or less innings and 7 starts of 4 or more ER, his stuff and velocity looks fine so there's really no reason to believe he's going to be a 8 ERA bum of a pitcher but Cubs twitter gonna Cubs twitter.

I'm sticking with my, "his ceiling is Soriano with awesome 2B defense" theory, which is still pretty great. Yeah that’s perfectly fine. Just any hope on seeing the approach being “fixed” is pretty much out the window for me with seeing him lately, he’s back to being a godless hacker. Throw him back to hitting 7/8 and playing the great defense.

Some combination of Zobrist, Schwarber, Bryant, Rizzo and Willy need to be hitting 1 through 5 (or 3 or 4 depending on who’s in the lineup) moving forward regardless of the pitcher.

Seems like we are always looking for something to "get a guy going" but hopefully that makes something click for Willy. That was damn impressive.

Yeah, not worried in the least. Just frustrating when they obviously aren't playing well, but worst case scenario here is a 5-2 homestead and splitting the season series against the Rockies so yeah I guess you take that every time.

Lol, it sounds like Bauer used pine tar or some substance to prove a point in the first inning of his last start since his spin rate was up in that inning to where he said he could get it with a substance.

Dodgers drop their first 2 in their 4 game series against the D'backs (Kershaw started tonight), they are now 5 games under .500 and 9 back. "It's May" but feel like they must win one of, if not both of, those last 2 games of that series, 11/9 back and 7/5 under would be a huge hole and basically any margin for error is eliminated the rest of the year.

Well I did all I could, frustrating loss but whatever. The offense will be fine, just like the pitching will be and got straightened out when everyone was freaking out.

You don't find it meaningful?I think it’s meaningful but you don’t have much control over it. If you have good hitters they should generally hit how they normally hit with RISP and bad hitters should do the same and I believe we have mostly good hitters.

I think it’s just a really weird outlier thing, I mean we are going to be near the top of the league in OBP so the chances are going to be more frequent (so rate stats could be less but we could still end up getting guys in plenty often on just a total surface number). But we shouldn’t be this bad and I don’t know how you “fix it.” It seems like a thing you don’t want to overly talk with guys about and make it a mental thing or whatever. I mean, they can't get any worse, so I'd like to think they're not doing that. Yeah I mean I’d assume and hope it’s talked about, just don’t know how much you want to keep it in guys heads if they feel there’s nothing crazy going on with approaches and it’s better to just assume it will turn and it’s a process vs results thing (but obviously we have the long track record so who horsefeathering knows).
