he has 1 hit in 20 ABs, and was one of the worst players in baseball last year... I'd say his presence on the team is a pretty big worry Worst player in baseball last season isn't nearly as big a deal this year because he's not at the top of the depth chart. Still, 20 AB's? ouch. Guess his spring bought him some leash
no, I'm pretty sure that no one expected him to have far and away the best season of any pitcher ever. Having an ERA+3 times better than the current best and 4 times better than the best of the 20th/21 century would really be something. Like a hitter smacking 200 HR in a season. I don't think anyone predicted that
while I can understand if you loved him as a prospect a year ago, you're demented if he was your favorite cub a year ago. totally bonkers with a 0.28 ERA, 0.64 WHIP, 8.4:1 K:BB (that was a comment on Piniella skipping him, btw)
I would agree with you, but I think Aramis always made those type of plays. I remember saying in 2003 or 2004 that Aramis would make every tough play look easy and botch some of the routine ones. Now, he's much better at the routine and can still make the tough play. he's an ADD player
