  1. The video shows that you are wrong. He went just past the behind-the-line camera angle, so he swung just behind the line. It was close, it was a bad call, but it's a close call and the umpire can't have a good angle on it.
  2. It's not a terrible call, it's a wrong call
  3. Well, that's the most incredulous I've seen soriano look, and he didn't go around.
  4. Bob talking about how speed doesn't slump.
  5. I'm 80% sure len just advertised "tonight's post-game lies"
  6. So do the Marlins have scalpers?
  7. fixed that actually makes the sentence worse  hmm... well, more accurate in spirit, if poorly executed. oops
  8. Well, the right 2/3 of our outfield sucks
  9. would it be pinch hitting? I mean, would he have to come out?
  10. what an unbelievably stupid bunt attempt
  11. bob wishes he was a curmudgeon. Go Cubs!
  12. you realize that's only a 50% chance?
  13. in your defense, there are so many ways to strike him out
  14. bob pointing out that only the Reds have a higher NL era than the astros.
  15. I can't believe he threw anything so close to a strike for ball 4. that was even hittable
  16. Or not. 0-9 against Qualls He's just going to throw balls. He'll let ramirez get himself out if he wants to
  17. Soriano has a much better chance at a crap ab then does Ward. Just goes to show how "respected" Soriano is in the league. or how respected Ward is..that's the 7th intentional walk for Ward and he's only had 95 AB's this year. IBBs in the NL don't mean as much - don't know how many times he had a much weaker hitter/the pitcher's spot behind him. True, although I know 5 of them. 3 in front of Soriano, 1 in front of Theriot, 1 in front of Barrett. I'm not completely sure about the other two. And Ward isn't the type of guy you'll see bat 8th, but still I think IBB/PA isn't a great way to determine a player's respect since there are so many variable s that go into getting an intentional pass (setting up DPs, lefty-righty matchups, etc.). that's ignoring the fact that most managers are not of particularly high intelligence. Average, in the world of baseball decisions, does not mean that something is reasonable
  18. so houston plays the Imperial March from star wars for luke scott... Are they saying he's already succumbed to the dark side?
  19. Theriot hit a gapper, Carlos Lee and his reputation for speed and defense filled the gap and made the diving catch and robbed at least one run. Even with Ward at first, it still could have been two. that's an easy 2 runs if he doesn't catch it. the runners could have gone 3 bases each if they wanted to
  20. it was the best catch of Lee's career, diving on the run towards the wall, looked totally uncatchable
