  1. Or hitting a home run that's the difference in the game, like on Friday. Remember that one time Neifi hit a game winning grand slam in extras at St. Louis? I do. So Neifi and Kosuke are comparable now? Good to know. Of course they're not. My point is that you can't talk up how good of a player Kosuke is with a "he did this one great thing once" argument because you could make the same argument for crappy players like Neifi. How about "he's on pace for the most HR of any Japanese player in their first year here" (ok, Matsui probably had 1-2 more than Fuk is on pace for) or "He's doing better than the good Matsui his first year here" or "if we had 8 Kosukes in the field, we'd go through a starter and 3-6 relievers on the other team every day and completely destroy their pitching staffs"
  2. ? (I'm on Gameday, and it's going slow) it's not really over
  3. Surprised he wasn't tossed after the AB, definitely said some things that can't be broadcast
  4. Hey Lewis, try not to slam your head into the ground on feet-first slides.
  5. CUBS are 12-15 when the opponent steals a base.... 38-17 when they don't Go CUBS !! Wow, you found the negative split. Wouldn't have guessed it would be steals Steals & sac bunts always correlate with winning, and opponents steals & opponents sac bunts always correlate with losing. Go figure !! but we've been so good most of the year that even splits like "allowed more than 4 walks" etc seem to have the Cubs with winning records

  7. I hope Fontenot becomes a manager so we get videos of him arguing with umpires. It'll look like a 10 year old arguing with his father.
  8. That girl in the dairy queen commercial has some really scary teeth. Worst I've ever seen on an actor of any age
  9. Marquis has pretty good reflexes on defense
  10. Eyre snagged a fairly hard foul with his right hand. So that's ok

  12. And then single, SB, single went the Sox to win the game 3-2. Unreal. Well, Joe Borowski in 2008.
  13. There's no way Durham could have beaten out a bunt single, is there? Bad Cedeno, bad!
  14. I'm reminded of my reaction when my father told me about the Zito contract. I guffawed. How many pitchers allow 300 baserunners in a season, anyway?
  15. Going for the monster park in Oakland to the tiny park in SF obviously wasn't going to bode well for Zito. Everyone in the world knew it. lol wat Oh come on it is barely 421 to right center with a 25 foot wall. :D Okay, the gaps are big but down the line its nothing. 339 in left and 309 in right? That's a hitters park. Between the San Francisco weather, high walls, and some parts of the park that are very deep it is definitely not a hitterspark. It also neutralizes left handed home run power quite a bit. fixed, I think. And as a Cubs fan, I support stadiums that are rough on left handed power.
  16. He's pretty clearly playing as well as he possibly can for us, and that's all I can ask. I'm shocked and very pleased by his production. thank you, Mr. Edmonds, for the way you've played for the Cubs.
