Humorous penalties in the Min/Cal game. Receiver drops a pass and gets knocked down, gets taunted slightly, gets up and pushes the defender who flops backwards. Stupidity all around

I have no problem with the play. Is the defense supposed to allow a free TD there? There was no other play. Whether or not it's against the rules (and I'm guessing "helmet to helmet" includes "helmet to uncovered face"), they completely ignored that the guy took a blow to the face so hard he was bleeding and concussed. Hit the guy. Don't lead with your forehead edit: I should make clear that my contempt here is for the announcer. It was a slightly bad defensive play. It was a horrible job by the announcers

The announcers for the Minn/Cal game just watched a replay showing a guy hitting a receiver in the chin with the helmet 15 or so times and repeating "it was a clean hit" "he hit him with his shoulder" "it wasn't helmet to helmet" (it wasn't, it was worse than that) while the receiver is on the grass bleeding edit: they came back from commercial and during the kickoff return they're still talking about him hitting him with the shoulder!

I really wish teams would scrap this form of a 'defense' from their playbooks. Sometimes it makes sense. A 3 point lead with two minutes left is not one of them
