    I'm pretty sure he's been better about that recently. I know I kept expecting him to do that in May and I don't remember him actually doing it He's always been an impatient hitter, usually taking the least pitches per AB of any regular starter on the team. It always infuriated me when I'd hear idiots calling into the radio shows demanding that Theriot lead off over Soriano because he's "more patient." Yeah, but after years of him seeming to swing at the first pitch after walks I kept looking for it this season and not seeing it. I thought he was intentionally working on not being an idiot in those situations. Maybe not.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that third goal the one on the delayed penalty call, where they pulled Niemi and scored before the Flyers got control and play was stopped ?? That was the second goal, I believe. Yes, just went on my DVR and checked, that was the second goal. I think the second goal was on a power play, but the third was the delayed call. I can take a screenshot of the 1-0 "delayed penalty" screen with the puck sailing into the net if you want proof. I just watched the second and third goals again.

    The only way I'd watch a World Cup game is if the US is in the late rounds with a chance to upset a real soccer country. And yes, it would be purely mean-spirited of me.
