    He has one more RBI than Castro and Fontenot (17. They both have 16. I'm not sure if that counted Castro's from tonight). Fontenot and Castro have 288 ABs combined. Theriot has 286. Hill ,Baker, Tracy, Zambrano, Nady, Colvin, and Silva plus all the other starters all have a higher RBI/AB ratio. Okay, it's not a stat that means much, but that's painful. Edit: Gorzelany also has a higher RBI/AB ratio, which means every player on the team has a higher ratio than Theriot.

Without knowing that, it's hard to tell where it was between "obnoxious loud guy trying to fire people up getting yelled at by other player sick of him" and "obnoxious loud guy screaming his hatred of teammates in the dugout until he found someone he wanted to yell at" Of course, the people who decided on the suspension would know, which is a strong suggestion towards it being on the latter end of the spectrum.

    There are more days in June that aren't summer than there are that is summer. 20 days are "spring" 10 days are summer. We're not using the farmer's almanac or some arcane meteorological definition here. When people talk about summer they're including June. "Meteorological summer" is June through August, actually. Astronomical summer starts on the solstice /pedant

    Yes, it is quite safe in downtown and Eastern Evanston. The places with semi-common violent crime are to the West. And even there it's as safe or safer than 85% of Chicago. 2 Blocks from Davis and Dempster street Purple line stations and a Metra station, and a 2-5 block walk from almost anything you'd want to go to in Evanston.

    So I read this and had to look it up. There are MLB players who make more per year than MLS made in television revenue in 2008. Average take per team was under $1 million. The national television contracts TBS and Fox have with MLB are 20 times that per year. ESPN is another 10 or so times the league total per year. How many individual teams have local television deals worth more than that? The Mariners get over $40 million a year for their local television rights, and they're maybe barely in the top 10 in the league
