  1. Yeah, we get what xFIP is supposed to show. The fact that a player can under perform it for a thousand innings suggests that it has major problems.
  2. Happy with the offense. Two drops by Marshall, two by Bennett, at least one by some other guy. Like myself/Sulley were just discussing, there was maybe one, maybe two actual "bad" throws by Cutler. Offense has looked great, line has looked great, D has looked great. Raiders are terrible. Anyone else have thoughts to share on the game? Out of town this weekend and need moar football.
  3. Times in that period his xFIP has been as better than his actual ERA: 4. One of these years now, he'll get that bad luck out of his system (the two years before that were the only two in his career, aside from his 22 inning first season, where his ERA was better than xFIP. Same with FIP
  4. I suppose it's a good thing Jackson's giving homers up at 2/3 his usual pace. I mean, I know it is, but he'd be really wretched if he was his usual self there
  5. Third time he's made someone jump with a curve
  6. I can't believe that paternity test theater is still a successful genre. Len said they were worried about pockets of rain hitting later. Happened up north, but not enough they couldn't play through it
  7. http://mrphilroth.com/mlbpayrolls/ past and future payrolls.
  8. wtf is wrong with umps calling Murphy's check swings?
  9. singing off a sheet should be a death penalty offense
  10. Everyone understands that Russell has been garbage for a long time now, right?
  11. So you're saying he should have been Antoine Walker's financial advisor
  12. That's way better than I'd have guessed.
  13. As I mentioned last week, he had averaged about 18 homers per full season of ABs, so it's not like he ever lacked power for his positions. Of course, now he's hitting three homers a week, which is stupid from anywhere/anywhen
  14. While I agree you shouldn't write "resign" when meaning "re-sign", I believe that's a dictionary-level acceptable spelling Well, yeah, it's in the dictionary, but those two words mean completely different things. As do many other words.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homograph Many other words are homographs, but resign and re-sign are certainly not because they aren't written the same way. So, no, it's not acceptable (by any definition) because they're both written and pronounced differently. Except, as I mentioned in my previous post, "resign" and "resign" are the homographs at question. Yes, "resign" is an acceptable spelling of "re-sign", even though I think that's stupid
  15. Because this guy deserves it, even if he re-pumpkins again tomorrow. Nice job as a Cub so far, Pedro.

  18. What did Len say they were on the homestand, 3 for 48?
