Posted this in the previous game thread but might give us something to chat about in the beginning of this game. Playoff preferences. These guys suck. The only concern with them is if Kershaw is back, healthy, and pitching well, which seems unlikely. Also, our offense plays well pretty much anywhere. We don't really rely on home runs, anyway. Take them away. The only two guys whose power really matters are Rizzo and Bryant, and they have the power to go deep anywhere. Hitting homers ranks as like Thing #22 that we do well. We are much better at other things, like getting on base, and relying on our pitchers inducing weak contact heading out to our historically great defense. I agree Kershaw in a short series is a bit scary... but hell obviously not unbeatable. The Dodgers have been bounced in the 1st round back to back years or three in a row or something right? I'd like to run into the Dodgers in the NLCS. Preferably where Kershaw had to win game 5 of the NLDS vs someone and is pitching game 3 or 4 against the Cubs of the NLCS. I like how the Cubs match up with the rest of the Dodgers team. We automatically will face the winner of the WC game if we our the number 1 seed correct? Just putting two and two together I'd assume thats true because the Cardinals had to face the 97 win Cubs last year despite leading the NL. Im sure they would've rather have drawn the Mets or Dodgers offenses last year instead of our DongSmiths.. So I hope the Dodgers win the NL West... then we face whoever wins the WC game out of SF, STL, Pitt, FL, & maybe the NYM. Assuming all teams are healthy I guess I'd like to face off the Cardinals the most in a 5 game series... that or maybe FL after burning Fernandez in the 1 game playoff. If Cole is on the shelf I prefer Pittsburgh. Giants vs Cubs could hold a big advantage if we just work their starting pitchers, stay patient & build the series off a battle of bullpens. Obviously all of this is all hypotheticals with pretty small variances in odds to win that series but hell we got nothing else to talk about at this point after owning the league all year.
