http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/ When Piniella called Carlos in the office to tell him he was names to the ASG, all the brass was there Carlos feared he was being demoted to AAA. Not so of course, as they were all there to tell him the good news. But during that conversation Carlos finally admitted that he was a little "tired" from the heavy work load of the first half. Sounded like that was the first anyone new of it, so perhaps Carlos has been holding back. He went to the ASG not really expecting to pitch, unless it was really needed. As it was they needed him, and he did really well. I gotta think this has a lot to do with his recent wildness. Lou needs to use some of those other guys more, and maybe give Carlos more time off... =D> -
If you can take Cardinal owner Dewitt at his word, he won't let top prospects like Rasmus go for trade. He said this in and interview tonight. I've been really surprised at Freddies decline. Are they sure his shoulder is alright? Has it even healed right? It sure seems a shame, the way things have gone for him.

I don't think he ever tested positive, but there was something about him receiving HGH shipments IIRC. I'm new here, so I hope I do this right...LOL On Matthews Jr, he was caught up in that same group with Glaus, and Ankiel, who got shipments of HGH. I believe he denied it all, but I can't be sure about it. His stats show some real dramatic swings though. Not someone I would trust. The Angels are trying to trade him, knowing they'll need to eat a piece of that huge contract. :roll:
