August 15, 1993. Giants beat the Cubs 9-7 in 12 innings. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN199308150.shtml Barry Bonds and Matt Williams actually hit back-to-back homers twice in that game: in the 3rd inning off starter Mike Morgan and in the 12th off Randy Myers. The boxscore says the game took 3:24, but that must not include the lengthy rain delays that made the game start late and then held the game up for over an hour in the 7th inning (during which Harry Caray yelled "Let's play ball!" over the PA to get the fans riled up and encourage the umps to restart the game). After the 7th inning delay, we moved down from our cheap seats to sit way down near home plate since a large number of fans had left. I'm pretty sure the game ended about 5 1/2 hours after it was scheduled to start.
