  1. and that is fine... so have him starting at 3rd in the minors.
  2. How does Soriano's defense pass the test?
  3. Why do we have Jake Fox in the majors if we are going to consistently leave his stick out of the lineup? You don't take a hitter that hot (minors or not) and sit him down around a bunch of guys who aren't hitting themselves. Don't say that he needs work at 3B, if that's the case start him at Third for a week in Iowa. It's not like Alan Trammel is the only one that can teach him how to play said position.
  4. Yet he has still been better than Bradley, Fontenot and Soto, and will be better this year than Fox or Hoffpauir would be on the field full-time. Lee might not be "that good" anymore, but why isn't he getting the benefit of the doubt when guys like Fontenot (who wasn't a highly regarded prospect and has never performed in a full-time role) and Soto (who had a mediocre minor league career until he blew up in AAA and last year in the majors) are? Wow, Hoffpauir has a much better stick than DLee and Derrek's defense doesn't make up for his lack of offensive production. What next, are you going to tell us that Koyie Hill has better pop in his bat than Nelson Cruz?
  5. Check that... best power hitter outside of Sori.
  6. I could maybe understand putting Reed in for defensive purposes in the top of the 9th, but I also don't understand why Micah was pinch hit for. It's not like the guy has zero success against lefties in his career. He was pretty decent against lefties throughout his minor league career. For some reason Lou has decided that Micah can only hit against RH pitching. Exactly, I don't understand it. Micah was the best power hitter in today's lineup, you could argue he's the most talented hitter overall in today's lineup. Lou needs to open his eyes and realize this guy is going to be a vital part of this year's team's success.
  7. Why pinch hit Reed Johnson for Micah in any situation?
  8. I, for one, hate this idea.
  9. I would have gone with Barack Obama had he been a selection. Since he was not, this thread sucks.
  10. Same here, Ron NEEDS to see the Cubs win a World Series before he goes, granted I also hope he lives 100 more years. Same goes for my dad. He's the reason I'm a Cub fan. He's getting up there in age, has lots of health problems, and is slowly going blind. I want it more for him than anyone else. Hopefully everything I said about Ron also applies for your father.

  12. Switch Dempster and Z and I agree with you, Z a little in front due to his abilities at the dish. Honorable mention: The chick in your avatar!
  13. Edmonds had proven himself to be a very solid addition long before today's game.
  14. It would not be in our best interest to get rid of Cedeno right now. He is our best middle infielder defensively (it's not even close). Plus, his value would be a lot better in the offseason anyways.
  15. Undoubtedly.
  16. after Hanley made contact with him on that hustling double yesterday. From what Pat and Ron were saying it sounded like he was a little shaken up.
  17. Since you're going to be the prognosticator..... are we going to have home field advantage for that series?
  18. Unless someone gets injured. Crowbar-check. Now I wonder where Patterson or Cedeno would be at this hour. Cedeno is our best defensive middle infielder, by far and away. You want him to get injured?
  19. At least after making that BOLD World Series prediction prior to the season, he has done his part to get us in position to fulfill that.
  20. It's amazing how many Cubs fans have pulled a John McCain and totally flip/flopped on Edmonds. It's amazing how I've posted less than 10 times and [deleted] like you are acting like you know I didn't support him from the start. Besides.... Mitt Romney was the flip flopper..... Not to get into a political debate but if you know what McCain was saying 2 years ago (and the rest of the time he has been office) and what he is saying today he is the kind flip-flopper. From wanting to unify the parties and voting democrat 30% of the time on issues to being all about Republicans and only Republican issues. McCain may be flip flopping a bit more now.... But Mitt Romney is THE definition of flip flopper.
  21. I apologize, and maybe that is what he meant, but when what I wrote is quoted and then he says what he says... it's hard for me to interpret in any other way than I did. But I post this question to all the Edmonds nay sayers. Would you rather win a World Series this year? or Make sure we don't have any former Cardinal standouts on our team?
  22. Welcome to the forum! Thank you Vance.

  24. I'm so glad to see this guy performing well for us. I think all of the people who want to dislike him or never warm up to him because of his past with the Cardinals are just lost and need to realize we have far too big of a goal in front of us to worry about where one of our guys USED to play.
