  1. Great AB by Rizzo. Hopefully his plate vision is improving.
  2. Last year, I was often anxious that Lester could let a game get out of hand very quickly, even when he was dealing. I don't worry about that this year.
  3. Have all the Cubs forgotten how important it is for athletes to stay hydrated?
  4. Is everyone swinging for the fences all of a sudden?
  5. I mean, I won't fault him for swinging at borderline pitches, but every ball four he swung at was a good 3-4 inches off the plate.
  6. Christ, swing at ball four three times, why don't you, Baez.
  7. Okay, Rizzo. Time to get your head out of your ass.
  8. you say it as if you still don't really believe it Nah, I'm pretty calm and have been trying to get my horsefeathers together.
  9. Whelp, game's probably over with Jansen coming in. We're still 20 over and just had a six game winning streak, so not much to be upset about. These games happen.
  10. It doesn't help that every Dodger pitcher is utterly incapable of throwing a mistake pitch.
  11. I'm getting so hopeful for offense that I thought Soler had crushed that.
  12. It's true that this team is horsefeathering stacked and when your biggest weakness is having a bullpen that is middle of the pack at worst, you truly have a special team on your hands. I think people around here are most upset because there's no reason for Richard to be on the team when Theo could probably go out and get a lefty who's at least marginally better than Richard without giving up any significant pieces. It's not like our lefty specialist has to be as good as Chapman, he just needs to not be trash. And Richard has been trash of the St. Louis variety.
  13. Yeah but it's still unlucky. If the first ball was more solidly hit its right at heyward and if the second one isn't right in the hole it's at least one out and probably a double play. If Warren gets a one hop double play ball here, you can't argue he had a better inning in terms of the contact made. If the liner had gone right at Heyward, that's unlucky for the batter, not the pitcher. Line drives have a BABIP of something like .800.
  14. I was going to say we have Warren, but his peripherals have been trash this year.
  15. Where is everyone getting the idea that Richard was getting unlucky when two of the three hits were solid line drives?
  16. I mean, in a game where the Cubs have like one hit there is blame to go around. Okay, fair point. But putting in Richard into a tie game is like actively pencilling in a run for the opponent.
  17. Well, the Cubs would still have to score at some point. This is true, but putting in your worst reliever in a tie game is indefensible.
  18. This loss would be entirely on Joe. Unbelievable.
  19. OH HEY, RICHARD GAVE UP A RUN Jesus horsefeathering Christ, Joe.
  20. And of course it's a dinky single for a hit.
  21. I mean, Richard is only coming in for the lefty, right?
  22. Can we maybe not swing at horsefeathers all game?
  23. I mean, today Kazmir was hitting all his spots with an umpire calling a 90s Braves zone, and we have two dongs robbed by humid air, so I'm not worried.
  24. What's the point of wishful thinking on the internet if it's not going to have any effect?
