    Everyone who is freaking out just calm down. YES, I know we should've won this game. YES, I know we are on a tough losing streak. But we are still nearly a lock for the playoffs. 9 game wildcard lead with 23 to play, 4.5 division lead with 23 to play, and with 6 against the Brewers. It would take both a monumental collapse of the Cubs and a huge run by both the Brewers and Philles to keep us out of the postseason. Today's game showed signs of better offense, which is good. We are improving. I fully expect a win tomorrow.

    Even with the current 3 game losing streak, Cubs still have a 99.75% chance of making the playoffs. I doubt that will drop much after today's lost.

    Those are very nice numbers. You want a guy in scoring position. You can say what you want, but statistics show that bunting decreases your chances of winning That's very nice. Good for statistics. Bill Plashke, is that you? Nothing like utterly distorting my point. In THIS SITUATION, you bunt. uh no, based on this exact situation, it still lowers your win probability. Actually, no it doesn't, as 1% is not a significant statistical difference. Its a judgment call. and a stupid one to take the bat out of a good hitter so an inferior hitter can bat with a runner on 2nd. That's very nice. I disagree. A) you clearly don't know what "statistically significant" means B) when you wrote down something like "2+3=6" and your math teacher pointed out you were wrong, did you say "That's very nice. I disagree." A.) Actually, I do. Random variance must be over your head. B.) Do you have any idea how dumb that reads? You're comparing basically mathematical addition to an interpretation of a situation that has at least 3-4 subjective analyses within it. Nice try, though. Math? In MY game thread?

    i don't htink we can beat anyone right now. i can't envision a situation in which we could possibly win. This. I feel like the opposite of when the Cubs are hot.

    Thank freaking God the Brewers lost today. A comeback win would cap off the rollercoaster of today.

    Like Bob Howry not being in it. Or D Lee getting a run in with the bases loaded. Or Edmonds getting a run in with the bases loaded. Or Scoring the leadoff walk in the ninth. Or getting a run in with 2 on no out in the 10th.
