  1. I wasn't referring to your starting this thread right after a loss. There was some other posts earlier in the day that caused some angry responses that I was thinking of. So far, nothing wrong with your first post. Roger that. I actually tried to join when all that was starting...I don't know what I thought I could do but there was too much posting without thinking going on and I wanted to say so. But with it taking a day or so to register, I just got to watch both threads go up in flames. I'm out for now. Consider my intrusion of your home turf over for the time being.
  2. Thanks Vance. I agree it will be a huge blow. I don't think they'll make any moves right away just because I don't see anybody willing to deal this early in the season. Probably try to tread water until midseason and try to make a move. Or if everything falls apart and the brewers are pretty far out just forget about it. Although I try to remember that the Brewers did have a decent start without him (hovering a few over .500). Regarding starting this thread after such a heartbreaking loss for the cubs...you lost the game we lost our #2 pitcher. I don't think anybody is thrilled. Thanks for the reply. Oh and the only reason I brought up the 'how long will he miss' question is this from the original report: "No decision will be made on surgery until the swelling subsides in Gallardo's knee. But he in all likelihood will miss most if not all the rest of the season, a severe blow to the Brewers' chances in 2008." -I agree that if its as bad as they think he's done for the year. But maybe the kid's got Reggie White like healing powers? Wishful thinking I know.
  3. *Puts on flame suit* As my name indicates I am a brewer fan, and usually content myself to just lurking on your board. But the recent series and resulting message board shenanigans have convinced me its time to post. Not to stir things up further but just to attempt to have (semi) cordial conversations with a rival (most would consider brewers/cubs to be the likely 1-2 in the central). Nobody likes the cards... As for Gallardo: consider this a replacement thread as there is plenty to discuss: -How will this affect the cubs as Gallardo is arguably the most important part of the brewers rotation (depending on if you consider another sheets injury a forgone conclusion or not). -Did Yost leaving him in there further the injury? -Even if it did not, why leave him in? -Will it require surgery? (I haven't heard) Replacement options? (Dave Bush for now...potential trades?) and a non-Gallardo question: How should opposing teams fans handle themselves on the board? I'd say opposing teams fans SHOULD walk on eggshells a bit...its a cubs forum and even as members we're guests. That probably requires a thick skin at times and an even keel. But I also think unprovoked hostility (if it occurs) is a bit ridiculous...a different perspective is a good thing.
