  2. For real....Grace really [expletive] himself on the field? LOL. lol I wanna hear more I miss Grace. He was my fav back int he day..even more then sandberg (who was a very close #2)
  3. UGH. WHO THINKS THE bEARS WILL LET HIM GO IF HE GOES TO JAIL? I HOPE NOT. I THINK THIS WHOLE EXPERIENCE HAS TAUGHT HIM A LESSON, AT LEAST I HOPE SO, AND TANK IS A GOOD DT.
  4. Hutchinson? Walter Jones. oo..I dont remember hearing about that. Does anyone think we might have an inhouse replacement for Briggs? like Jamar Williams? edit Jamar's name
  5. Moving up the equivalent number of spots that the Bears moved would essentially cost a late 2nd or early 3rd round pick. The Bears basically traded Benson for a late 2nd or early 3rd, and then traded that pick and their 2nd to move up. I don't think he got hosed. 2nd round draft picks are extremely valuable trade chips. I guess this is where I would make a lousy NFL GM, I woulda helpd out and made the Jets pay more, if not, make Jones play angry. Whattya think we can get for Briggs now that he is pissed off? I don't know, but if it's just exchanging a pick? I'd let Briggs sit. All year if necessary. Hell, I'd franchise him over & over and let him sit forever if all I'm going to get for him is an exchange of 15 draft positions. can you actually do that? franchise a player year after year? not a bad option here. I am abit pissed w/Briggs. The offer the Bears gave him last year was a fair offer I think. Maybe the Bears new 2nd rd pick will be one to replace Briggs...
  6. To an extent, yes. If they waste the draft pick then it's a wasted trade. But the fact is Jones had no future with the Bears. They weren't going to give him a $12m signing bonus with a 5 year deal, and then risk him being a cap hindrance in 2-3 years. Jones wasn't going to play out his contract without being a huge problem. So the Bears essentially had to trade him, and they got a decent value for him. People tend to lump draft picks together as just some sort of crapshoot. But they aren't. NFL draft picks have real value. This was a fair deal on both ends. while I think it is true Jones had no future witht he Bears, I still think he was worth more then just a higher 2nd rd draft pick. With this pick (NY 2nd rd) who do you think we are looking for?

  8. i DONT SEE WHY WE NEED TO GIVE UP OR 2ND ROUND PICK. jONES STRAIGHT UP FOR THE JETS 2ND RND PICK WOULDA BEEN FINE, BUT I FEEL LIKE ANGELO GOT HOSED. GOOD LUCK IN NY JONESY. BRING ON BENSON!!
  9. There is no one that rivals the man-crush I have for Kerry Wood. shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii..move over son, you gotta lotta learn'n and yearn'n to do before you reach my level....
  10. wita Kap-i-tal K good to see the old woody. Lets hope he stays that way.
  11. I pull my hair out when I think of why we haven't tried this yet. Granted, he was a rook, and maybe he doesn't have WR hands (pure conjecture on my part), but a guy with that speed HAS to get a few looks on offense, right?
  12. I have to say that part of an offesive coordinators job is understanding how his players will respond to the opponents defense. Turner did a horrible job at theis in the Super Bowl. having said that, I think Turner can be critisized for his handling of grossman, and his inability to keep Grossman calm when the poop hit the fan. I also think Turner did an exceptional job understanding what he had in his WR's for the majority of the season. I look forward to how he will change in his approach with Grossman (and thus how Grossman will respond) more then anything. I think that is the key for the Bears next year.
  13. last I checked, we dont run the West Coast.... Is Turners O a derivative of the west coast? I didnt think it was If the Bears ADAPT to that he wouldn't be a bad pickup. oic...I was confused by that remark......

  15. That's why you trade Lovie to the Cowboys and use those picks + others for McNabb. i'm confused...so you would be out a coach with a hurt QB? I like McNabb, he would make the Bears the odds on favs for the super bowl, but the chances of him getting hurt ar soo damn high Slide Rivera to the Head spot. I like Rivera, but I like Lovie more as a head coach.

  17. McNabb has "Hershel Walker trade" written all over him, ie just one more player to get us over the top, trade the farm away.. at least thats my fear
  18. Screw it. Try and get Schaub from Hotlanta. He's gonna be bad to the bone if he gets a chance to start somewhere. are you serious..Matt Schaub? I have a good friend who is a huge Falcons fan, and hates the idea of Schuab starting...I didnt think he showed much promise...
  19. he seemed to be in position, alot better then before
  20. I wouldn't mind unconventional, but I do agree with your statement about needing to be a no-brainer. I don't replace Grossman with a guy who has his own questions. I just don't buy the theory that he's hopeless. A lot of people said the Bears could never win in the playoffs with a guy like Grossman. I think what we're forgetting is that the Bears went to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman in his first full year. This isn't a case of the team struggling to win 9/10 games a year while developing a QB. They made the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman. That very fact negates any notion that they can't win a Super Bowl with Rex Grossman. The defense was not at its best, and they were still within 5 points of winning the Super Bowl late in the game. This post loss apocalyptic talk about absolutely needing to replace Grossman is more emotional than logical. I think it would be very unrealistic to assume his next 28 games won't be better than his first 28 games. I would bet on his 2007 being better than his 2006, barring injury. I guess there's a chance weve seen his best and it's all downhill from here. But I highly doubt that's true, and I really don't see any realistic opportunity for improvement elsewhere. i WOULD WHOLEY AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS. i AM DISAPPOINTED THAT HE DIDNT GROW FASTER, BUT WHO ELSE WOOULD HAVE? GRIESE? DENVER DUMPED HIM FOR JAKE FRIGGEN PLUMMER. ORTON? THE GUY CANT EVEN TAKE BEING A 3RD STRING QB SERIOUSLY. I DONT LIEK BYRON LEFTWICH, GARCIA, OR ANY OF THE OTHER OPTIONS EITHER. THE ONLY ONE I THINK MIGHT BE POSSIBLE IS KURT WARNER, BUT HE SEMS TO HAVE LOST IT TOO. I THINK THE BEARS HAVE TO BITE THIS BULLET AND STICK WITH REX.
