  1. You have a very strong emotional attachment to this man. sure, in a Cubs-fan way I love the guy. That doesnt mean I dream of him being the Cubs manager, but to irrationally dump on him is rather emotional too, dont you think?
  2. He's been a raging anus since the day he retired (the real one, not the quitting on the team one), and he gets a humongous pass for the exact sorts of things that Hispanic players get constantly media railroaded for. so, your way of getting back at the ignorant media is to slam Sandberg? wow-how rational.
  3. http://fastcache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/11/2005/09/rpcereal.jpg this guy would [expletive] your wife too given the chance.
  4. stop with the "he's white" [expletive]. and who gives a [expletive] about his cheating ex-wife, if anything, that doesnt mark him, it marks her as a slut. oh-btw-he divorced her for a reason. Sandberg was a great player, and in vast majority of opinions, a really great guy. neither of those things indicate him as a great manager, obviously, but to try and use his off-the-field issues against him in the managerial arguments is [expletive] stupid. the irrational "Trash Sandberg" [expletive] is stupid, invalid, and just makes you all look like complete morons.
  5. It's pretty clear a lot of us don't like him much, but he's obviously exaggerating his points to get a rise out of people. what? I love jersey 80% of the time. hes a solid poster, except when he posts [expletive].
  6. what, I'm being trolled? Well, other people were...and you just decided to jump in. then I have to assume jersey doesn't believe what he posted. but knowing him as a poster, I'm not so sure he doesn't.
  7. It's closer than you think. Carlos Zambrano: 3.6 bWAR per full season for his career Ryne Sandberg: 4.1 bWAR per full season for his career that is closer. its rather amazing that Ryne is in the HoF and Z will likely never get in.
  8. Zambrano told a teammate he was going to retire but then changed his mind, and for this the vast majority think he should never put on a Cubs uniform again. Ryne Sandberg actually did quit on his team in the middle of the season. But a very large group of people have nothing but glowing things to say about him and think he should lead this team. 1. Z was never the talent Ryne was as a player. Sure, a lot of us thought he could be, but he wasnt. Ryne gets a pass because he played so damn well for 8-9 YEARS. 2. Z's "retirement" was hardly the first indication that he might be just a lil bit [expletive] crazy. How many flake-outs did Ryne have? 3. Name 1 Superstar MLB player that isnt "ME FIRST". Please. Besides, how is this ANY indication of their managerial success? 3a. Z isnt the "ME FIRST" type? 4. I doubt either would make a very good manager, but to try and lump them together as "bad manager" candidates because they both retired during the season is nuts. Its also crazy to try and imply Z is somehow less nuts then Ryne. Z is nuts, Ryne is just too stuck in the old ways.
  9. a better comparison for Sandberg might be Sosa. this Z comparison its pretty [expletive] nuts.
  10. I probably saw every at bat he ever had before his first retirement. My opinion of him was extremely high at the time but has done nothing but go downhill since. he was the best 2nd basemen in the MLB's. yep then he quit so what
  11. I probably saw every at bat he ever had before his first retirement. My opinion of him was extremely high at the time but has done nothing but go downhill since. he was the best 2nd basemen in the MLB's.
  12. ............and that makes him equal to Z in what way?
  13. You're talking about all the times he got him thrown out of minor league games? no, I'm trying to understand your implication that Ryne Sandberg = Zambrano
  14. He also quit on his team in the middle of a season and really only had a 14.5 year career. Would you want Zambrano managing the Cubs? Comparing Z and Ryno is quite comical. That's true. Z came back to the team almost immediately while Ryno actually followed through on screwing everybody over. yea. I mean all those meltdowns and profanity laced tirades Ryne had. JUST LIKE TWINS.
  15. Not sure exactly what you're looking for, but maybe this helps? http://trianglebuilding.blogspot.com/ ugh. promoted by the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture = aka = "this will be traditional and it will trucking suck. welcome to our pompous suck-ass world, ya'll"
  16. I just wanted to drop in and yell BLACKHAWKS BABY!!! I think they're playing really great.
  17. I really don't get it. "get rid of the descenting voice"
  18. we thought you were dead where is chocolate milk?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  19. I got this same impression. I did not. I got the impression that the developmental side (minor leagues) would be busy as hell, but the FA (big league team) side not so.
  20. that's rather amazing considering how long both teams have been around
  21. I thought this as well because of what he said.
