It could be argued that if Marshall was a FA and got to go wherever he wanted, he would have been likely to pick Chicago anyway due to Cutler. But the Bears couldn't afford to wait to see if Miami cut Marshall in 2 days or 2 months. Even if you told me there was a better than 50/50 chance he would get cut and a 50/50 chance he went to the Bears vs. the other 30 teams, I still would be OK with the trade. yea, 2 3rd rds for a pro bowl WR isn't a bad deal no matter how you look at it, questioning it is revisionist bs

I'm coming at it from more of an occupy wall street anti 1% angle. That money should go to teachers and fire fighters and to keeping tickets low so people who really love the team can watch the games. I don't want to live in a world where my son can't afford season tickets. firefighters are overpaid, they can afford more then you realize.

I'm willing to bet the highest offer the bears get for Forte is the NE 2nd rd pick. Would you do that? And who would you try and draft with that pick?

I think it's somewhat hilarious that there is a perception that Forte is treating this so horribly bad because of a tweet. The bears offered him less then what Frank Gore got. I don't see an issue with him stomping his feet for more, especially if he can get it.

we won't get a 1st rd pick for him, but yes you do that deal all day. It's how the "running backs age faster so devalue them" that I find suspicious. HOW much faster do they age?

wth is this? is that like "dog years"? how does that equation work? You can't be [expletive] serious, man. Are you not aware of the career expectancy of RBs and how relatively low it is compared to the rest of the positions? Additionally, are you unaware of the fact that Forte has had an extremely heavy workload to this point and is coming off a fairly serious lower body injury? everything I've read about his injury suggests it isn't expected to be career threatening/altering/effecting in any way. Its not like he had his f-in neck fused (WTG BRONCOS). Yea, I understand the premises behind the "ton of miles" argument. But what I dont understand and what I've never seen anyone explain is how those years of toil really translate. He's 26. Lets say those years add 2 years to his "football age", then hes 28. Still pretty much in his prime. But what if its just 6 months? To me, the whole argument is pretty suspicious.

for years, the Bears have pissed all over their o-line, and in that time, Forte has steadily produced at almost elite level. Put him behind NE's line with Brady, and you will see what he's really capable of. its asinine to pretend like this is all Forte's issue. Frankly, he needs to fire his agent. but the Bears have never been known to have wonderful management either. They sure as hell didnt play this perfectly
