  1. one of my neighbor's son is a guy named Dax Baumgartner, Dax is a keyboardist and toured twice with NSYNC. He likes to joke about the "boy band" nature of it all, but loved the band in general because they treated him very well and would even pay in cash. When he was touring with them in Europe, his mom told him to send the money home and she would put it in a bank account for him - not realizing the logistics Dax had to go through to filp greenbacks to european money and then wiring that money to the US. As a result, he would internationally mail his mom bags of cash...in his laundry...lol
  2. while I was in Minneapolis this past weekend (grad class reunioin), I had several conversations about the Bears, Vikings and Packers with a few of them. I relayed what a couple of my Viking-fan friends felt (doom is always in their future), but what felt almost desperate was my Packer-fan buddy who tried to make an arguement that letting go of Justin Fields instead of trading the #1 pick for another draft pick haul was a huge mistake. I'll admit, I certainly gave that idea some headspace last winter, but I cant think that any Bear fan paying attention to the current state of the Bears offense would think the same. fear is in the GB water...and I love it
  3. i dont think jersey should start these threads anymore if he's going to start them like this boooooooooooooo
  4. They also don’t fully trust the defense
  5. Spent the weekend in Minneapolis and all my friends say this about the Vikings: “we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop” granted, as a fan base they’ve lived through enormous let downs, I was surprised to hear that
  6. I could get used to this Caleb guy
  7. "to know thy enemy is to know thyself" jk, thats not a really a quote, but I've often wondered if a position player switches to the other side of the ball, if they have some gained knowledge to use to their advantage
  8. Help me understand that stat, does it account for coverage?
  9. i dont give a horsefeathers how long the longest punt is, I care about how many punts land (and are downed) inside the 10 of the opposing teams side of the field. What are those stats? How is he doing there?
  10. I was having a conversation with a childhood friend and longtime packer fan about rodgers. he claims that packer fans too are happy to see him lose because he was such a PITA at the end of his career. There is part of me that wishes he would succeed all the way to the AFC champ, and then lose, just as Love fails misearably
  11. for as much as I would have liked Schmitt, Dexter is having himself a year and a big part of that pressure
  12. I think the mormans are confusing soccer with hockey
  13. i feel like the Bears are starting to become the dangerous sneaky team of the nfc...they very well could end up upsetting a few teams, and WC looks certainly possible
  14. That’s not “bad stat usage” that’s, in fact, excellent stat usage my friend
  15. idk, taking a misunderstood native american word or statement and using it to create a fight chant for your school seems far less racists than using a highly stylised and brutalized image as your actual mascot. The worst thing about the Gophers is that Ojibwe people might laugh at the mispronunciation and chalk it up to "silly white people" while Illinois completely mis-appropriated an actual tribe
  16. what a weird experience, watching the other team essentially give up well before the game was actually over. I could get used to it
  17. broken Ojibwe, it doesnt actually translate to anything but means "GO U OF M" Legend has it, in the 1800's a football coach heard some Ojibwe scouts yelling "SKI" (SKY) as they were racing canoes down the Mississippi in Minneapolis, and he translated it to "GO!". In reality, its a typical white-man interperation, an not all that accurate
  18. 27-24, the Caleb Comeback Game. #18 scores 14 points in the 3rd and 4th after being down to lead the Bears to a W and his legend begins
  19. Schmitt but yes, Dexter has been improving quite well
  20. One would hope, but then again we (as a fan base) have witnessed these great moments hoping they were just passing mirages:
  21. I know Moore let up on that play, but Williams threw a 4 seam fastball also. I feel like Moore could have ran faster (committed to the play) BUT ALSO Williams could make that throw with a bit more air/touch on it to make it a gimme play. Otherwise, Moore would have been running flat out catching a horsefeathers dart, I can see that failing
