  2. This isn't just because I'm against the trade, but is this strategy something that's way easier to pull off in theory vs reality? Obviously you want Chapman pitching the most important at bat of every game, but those moments sometimes tend to develop pretty quickly. Maddon is the best in the game and I'm happy it's him trying to figure out the best way to use him, but you can't just have him throwing on the side for the last 4 innings of every close game. No you can't, but the concept of a LOOGY is hardly a new idea. Not that we would use him as a LOOGY, it would more likely be a few batters. I dunno, maybe that's the wrong way to look at it, but I really want a guy that can come in to shut down lefties. Particularly if we play someone like the Nats, whose 2 best hitters are left handed. this is something I wonder if Maddon will consider: putting Chapman into the highest pressure situations that arise regardless of inning, 7,8, or 9. Say you're up by 1, 2 guys on, 1 out and Harber and Murphy are coming up in the 7th. Could Maddon become as free thinking with his use of the bullpen as he can be with position players? Why pitch Stroop there when you have that much heat at your disposal?
  3. 1. this isnt A reliever, this is THE reliever 2. hes a pos and that sucks
  4. Yeah. With like a billion dollars coming off the books if he was going to sign for 4/60 he'd be a Yankee. He probably still will be but just for more years and perhaps AAV. the real kick in the shins will be next year when Chapman resigns with the Yankees AND they make off with Torres
  5. if there is no extension, I want to ride Chapman like a rented mule. his arm should be jelly at the end of this season
  6. Yea. That's really about where I'm at. Torres could just as easily become Felix Pie as Lou Brock But god it would suck to make that mistake again
  7. Why would he not? Is he desperate? Because he isn't stupid

  9. I'm not going to debate morals. He (with Wood, Stoop, Rondon, Montgomery) gives us a nice bullpen and that's good. How much we have to give up for 4.5 years of him is the big question for me
  10. Wow. Chapman with an extension might be ok
  11. well that seals it. Sale is nutso. That jersey is awesome
  12. Who the horsefeathers is Dwayne Wade
  13. If we had a WS in the bag, like last year, I'd be tempted to get Miller for prospects not named Russell, Rizzo, Bryant, or Schwarber. As it is, I want to hoard them to get a true difference maker and that starts somewhere around the name of Chris Sale and goes up, and the aforementioned names apply I want as many shots as this as possible
  14. Nooooobody can afford that horsefeathers
