  1. Pass to Graham was awesome
  2. Conspiracy theory, Ross has just been hiding KB to toy with the league
  3. nah, just rename the thread. what a glorious magnificant batflip, and the fact it led to Renteria to lose his horsefeathers (after the HBP) makes it even better AND THEN Wilson hits is second! great game
  4. I love watching Minshew choke Wazzu blows
  5. Beards, kneck beards etc
  6. since 2015, the Cubs offense has always seemed to be a bit streaky. facing dominate pitching was one explanation (2015 NLCS vs Mets) but not always leading to poor results (2016 NLCS vs Dodgers). Hopefully late in this season, it can be explained simply as bad luck and their luck changes when they start the playoffs
  7. true, but why play down to your competition. play your best guys, so far it looks like Riley Ridley isn't one of them
  8. why? he cant seem to get on the field against any other team
  9. subsequent to your post, I had to google that and understand that for 40 some years, my partial hearing loss due to childhood trauma has led me to misunderstand that phrase. thank you
  10. I lived in southern California back in the early '90's and worked for the Pasadena park dist. Doing so, I actually met Deacon Jones which was enough of a thrill. He was great to chat with, and when he found out I was a Bears fan, he really had one thing to say. It was something like: "Gale Sayers. OOF. Trying to tackle him was like trying to tackle a ghost. I would come through the line, have him one-on-one dead to rights and before I knew it, I was on the ground and he was 20 yards down the field" I always remember Deacon Jones calling Gale Sayers "..a ghost". RIP Gale.
  11. This feels like looking for a story to me. Nobody thought Kmet was a plug and play TE. He was never going to make an immediate impact. They targeted Jimmy Graham (who flailed badly twice) early. Trevathan is not playing as much because he hasn't been good. Cohen is doing the role expected of him. He's not a go to run the clock guy. Montgomery did a great job with that anyway. Cohen is a gimmick guy you hope has a couple explosive plays during the game, or somebody you might take a chance on late in the game, not the guy you feed in the 4th with a lead. pretty much it, although I dont agree with Nagy's game plan (run the clock out) I do think they executed it for the most part fairly well. The drops raw mentioned hurt...hopefully they are symptomatic of a compressed preseason and work themselves out
  12. Completely agree. I was flummoxd when the offseason ended with no #2 RB. Cohen is a 3rd down back at best. Patterson would be an emergency RB like in NE, and trick play guy. Still if Montgomery sprains an ankle there is no RB unless you count Nall. Maybe he can do it, but he hasn't yet and never plays. Nall was in on a few plays on Sunday fwiw eta: I'd like to see Nall get the ball more. he's big and doesn't totally lack speed, ran a 4.58 40.
  13. 3-0 would be fantastic. a 300 + yrd, 3 TD game by Turduckgoosky would be a nice add to the 3-0 start
  14. Yeah the defense seems to be taking a lot of heat for almost losing. By all measurements that was a good defensive game, that would look even better if not for the bogus call on the Jackson called back pick 6. And they do have some age on D but also have young talent at every position. Added a ton of youth at CB the last 2 offseasons. Fuller is the "old" guy but he's playing the best he ever has thru 2 games. Jackson is young, Smith is young. The DL guys getting most of the snaps outside of Hicks are young. The OLB starters are old (if you consider Mack old at 29), but with young depth. I think Pace is at least aware that he can't count on an elite defense forever. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk I thought they said on the broadcast that they had the oldest D in the league. Did I hear that wrong? I don't know how that can be with Johnson, Jackson, Smith and Nichols starting.
  15. and a ton of yards playing prevent D, but only 295 total for the game. Giants had something like 70 yards at half (they had 291 total yards against Pittsburgh last week)
  16. he lost a playoff game his last game with KC going uber conservative in the 2nd half up by 17. I realize KC had lost their TE that game, but one player (all-pro or not) shouldn't have that much of an impact especially since now we've seen him do it across teams and portions of the season https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Kansas_City_Chiefs_season#AFC_Wild_Card_Playoffs:_vs._(#5)_Tennessee_Titans Ahh yeah I forgot about that. But I believe Reid actually took playcalling duties away from Nagy before the playoffs. I'm sure he had major influence in the gameplan but maybe not as much in game adjustments. At the very least, this was the last "lesson" he should have learned from Reid. maybe, I thought he called at least the 1st half
  17. wth are you talking about? they ran him inside a couple of times! (I'm kidding, Nagy is absolutely puzzling sometimes Cohen played 32% of the snaps lol sure, and had 5 carries, 3 of which were between the tackles. I have no idea why you would waste his effort with that
  18. but thats the horsefeathering problem, when the O is wide open Mitch seems to play better; when Nagy pulls back, Mitch falters. Nagy has zero reasons to hold the offense back I'm almost certain he would be pulling the same horsefeathers even with a good QB under center. I think its just ingrained in his mentality that you go conservative with a 2nd half lead and a strong defense. It's the same mentality that caused him to lose his 1st game as coach against GB, and he obviously hasn't learned because he's still doing it. he lost a playoff game his last game with KC going uber conservative in the 2nd half up by 17. 19. Andy also likes coaching great quarterbacks he trusts. Nagy is coaching a middling QB he does not trust in the least. but thats the horsefeathering problem, when the O is wide open Mitch seems to play better; when Nagy pulls back, Mitch falters. Nagy has zero reasons to hold the offense back
  20. wth are you talking about? they ran him inside a couple of times! (I'm kidding, Nagy is absolutely puzzling sometimes
  21. The first was Mitch throwing it as Robinson came out of his break. Great play by the CB. If anything, Robinson should shield the CB from getting in there, but I chalk it up to more of a good defensive play. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk Wasn't that play into triple coverage? I don't blame Robinson for the first since it was in the flats at in the teeth of the D, bad play design, D covered it well, bad choice as it was a bit of a force. No doubt Mitch wants to give Robinson chances to prove his salary but he should have gone elsewhere The second, Robinson, if he is a top 10 WR and for all accounts known to be good at this particular play call, was either a comeback or jump ball. If it was a comeback, Mitch could have given more room to the backside and if it was a jump ball it was all Robinson. Either way, he had two hands on it and as a #1 you can't let the DB steal it from you.
