I was unbelievably lucky enough to get World Series tickets through the Cubs playoff lottery. It was Game 4, and you know... but as I was sitting in Wrigley with a grin than still hasn't gone away, I was thinking that this was the only game I've been too that really meant anything as far as "Good Cubs Games" go. But to me, every game meant something... *My first game I stopped with a car full of my dorm stuff. Sat in the bleachers by myself. Cubs won, lead off hitter hit two home runs, my stuff was still in the car when the game got done. *Sat in the bleachers with Harry *Played games with Tommy Lasorda and the Dodgers trying to throw a baseball into a bucket to win stuff (I missed) *Watched Doug Descenzo pitch because we were getting shelled by the Cardinals *Maddux vs Herschiser - we lost *Taking dates to Wrigley and knowing if I wanted a next date if she had fun *Taking my wife to a double header then Harry Carrays for a late dinner on our honeymoon and knowing that I struck gold *Taking my daughters to a game and still smiling when I see the picture of all of us there I will be at Coors Field to watch the Cubs in May, and in Wrigley in June. I know they will all leave me smiling. :good: -

I'm interested in the framed Tribune - I want that paper on my wall but I'm debating between the original newspaper and the print that they are offering. Is the one you can order a lot higher quality than the original paper if I were to get that framed? I'm also going to get the Sports Illustrated framed up: http://www.sicovers.com/product.aspx?pid=3079 It got lost in some off topic discussion, but does anyone who got the framed Tribune have thoughts on the the quality of the print vs the original newspaper?

Those were hard to find when I was there for Game 4. At Wrigleyville Sports they had a couple of Mediums, but no other sizes. Every other store I went to only had grey ones.

The bunt isn't the main point. The main points are his naive and unrealistic rhetoric regarding playing the game "the right way" and with "the right type of players" and his complete and total lack of coaching experience at the MLB level. The lack of MLB coaching experience I completely agree with. I actually thought sliding Trammel in the manger position and having Sandberg take over the bench coach role might be a good idea. But obviously that's not going to happen. As for the "playing the game the right way". I don't see the problem with this and don't know why it's a sticking point with some. He's in the minor league. I think teaching them to play the game "the right way" is just fine. Not sure if that's how he would continue to do things if he was with the Cubs. But at times I think it's fine (not the first inning, though).

If the point of this thread is to show why Ryno should NOT be manager of the Cubs next year, it isn't convincing me. I guess the one exception would be the sac bunt with the #3 hitter. BUT... isn't it likely that if you took every manager and looked back at their history you could find a head scratcher like that? By the way, what happened next? Did the runners eventually score? Did they win the game?

What does everyone think of this trade? I'm getting Morneau/Lincecum and giving Braun/Nathan. I also have Trevor Hoffman, Dan Wheeler, both Gregg and Marmol and Valverde. Advise on this trade?

About 15 years ago we went down without tickets. Found a "you need 2" guy. We asked him to see the tickets. He handed them to me, looked over my shoulder and took off running. There was a cop walking towards us. We had tickets in hand and "you need 2" guy was gone. Free tickets for us! :D
