  1. My mind is going blank at the moment, but I recall someone on our team and Jurrjens having an incident a few years ago. Was it Theriot? I honestly don't remember.
  2. Splitter was awesome tonight.

  4. Winning is fun. Samardzija was amazing. Anthony Rizzo. That is all.

  9. (32-45) Houston Astros @ (27-49) Chicago Cubs http://mlb.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_457918.jpg J.A. Happ 6-7, 4.83 ERA Career vs. Cubs: 1-1, with a 6.00 ERA in three starts. 15.0 IP, 12 K and 11 BB. http://mlb.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_490063.jpg Matt Garza 3-6, 4.06 ERA Career vs. Astros: 0-3, with a 4.64 ERA in five starts. 33.0 IP, 29 K and 10 BB. The Cubs received great pitching in game one of the series from Paul Maholm, as they blanked the Astros, 4-0. Pitching for the Astros is J.A. Happ, who has put together a couple of nice starts during inter league play. He allowed one earned run in six innings against the Cubs on May 22nd, earning the win. Going for the Cubs is Matt Garza. Garza has pitched five straight quality starts but has only earned one win during the stretch due to the Cubs lack of offensive support. He only went three innings on May 21st against the Astros, allowing seven earned runs.
  10. (32-44) Houston Astros @ (26-49) Chicago Cubs http://mlb.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_502032.jpg Bud Norris 5-4, 4.81 ERA Career vs. Cubs: 3-2, with a 1.89 ERA in five starts. 33.1 IP, 35 K and 17 BB. http://mlb.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_430904.jpg Paul Maholm 4-6, 5.38 ERA Career vs. Astros: 11-6, with a 3.31 ERA in 20 starts. 130.2 IP, 63 K and 39 BB. Bud Norris is scheduled to come off the DL to face the Cubs on Friday. He last won a game against these Chicago Cubs, in which he shut them out through seven innings. Paul Maholm couldn't get through four innings at Arizona as he allowed six earned runs. He hasn't won a game since May 9th.
  11. Would you guys be in favor of shutting him down until after the ASB? If they don't skip him before it, he would face the Braves and Mets (both road games). It can't hurt can it? Let him do his side sessions if need be, but let him clear his head.
  12. Good riddance. Hope someone trades for him.
  13. Intrigued to see how Rizzo fares against a lefty. Possible sweep. Hopefully Samardzija pitches well.
  14. And who takes his rotation spot (assuming Dempster is gone soon after coming off the DL). Sveum mentioned Rusin and Volstad. It's hard to defend giving Wells another start. Let's just hope Demp comes back healthy.
