  1. Thanks. That's what I was looking for. I realize there is no hard statistics on it, but the approximate stuff works pretty well.
  2. Anyone know where I might be able to get pitching statistics broken down by place in the starting rotation? Like, AL/NL averages for #1 SP, #2 SP etc?
  3. Who it is not: Grimm Jones Nehf Sweetland Camilli Cavarretta
  4. His history (given that it's been brief) has been to pitch exceedingly well when first promoted. He finishes out the half season, pitching well. The following season, he gets hit hard and is inexplicably promoted. Where he starts the cycle over again, looking great. So if he helps us out the rest of this season, that will be great. Maybe the solution is to keep him in pen. I just wouldn't annoint him just yet. I'm just hoping for a great couple months.
  5. Here's another quote, stating Samardzija will pitch out of the bullpen. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2008/07/samardzija-arri.html
  6. Yep and Holtzman had 17 that season. But then again, that was back when a 4-man rotation was the norm so each starter got 40-42 starts if they were healthy.
  7. The last time the Cubs had 5 starting pitchers win 10+ games was 1972. Team finished 91-64: Fergie Jenkins - 20-12 Burt Hooten - 11-14 Bill Hands - 11-8 Milt Pappas - 17-7 Rick Reuschel - 10-8
  8. The Cubs had 5 pitchers with 10+ wins in 1993 when the team went 84-78. Mike Morgan 10-15 Greg Hibbard 15-11 Jose Guzman 12-10 Mike Harkey 10-10 Jose Bautista 10-3 (he was a part time starter with 3 GS in June and 4 GS in Sept).
