the original undisputed GOAT. And the only of the top 3 I saw play live (albeit before I was able to process what I was seeing and long after his prime). My grandfather saw him play in 1960 in Antwerp, and he said he was the best.

Obviously disappointed by the result, but this WC went more or less as I expected, tbh. The window for this team was 2018, and it's been a steady decline since. Martinez was always going to try and squeeze one more tounament out of his regular but aging (and out of form) group, with predictable results. Whoever will be the new coach will have to rebuild.

KDB looked thourougly confused at being named MOTM after that game - he knows he didn't play well, so he put it down to "just the name" (I've no idea how the MOTM is chosen)

They really did - only had one bad game (at home against Porto). Atletico Madrid got eliminated from that group - that should count for something.
