  1. Nice way for Jason to stick his tongue out to Baker. 8) Dubois deserves to play every day. Period.
  2. Stumbled upon by accident: Ivanon Coffie is playing for Almere in the Dutch (amateur) league. Well actually, he is currently involved with the national team in the European Chamionship being played in the Czech Republic.
  3. And did a sloppy job on the Netherlands. There are currently 25 Dutch nationals playing pro-ball abroad (and a 26th just signed with the Twins organization). Only nine are mentioned in BA's piece. Not to mention the scandalous omission of good old Ivanon Coffie :clown:
  4. Great post by SaorsaDaonnan summing up the pro's and con's of this event. If baseball wants to 'internationalize', then there's no option but to hold something like this tournament. The exact same argument is valid in soccer. Yes, the national federations obviously insure the players they call up for international duty, but if and when a key player (for his club team) gets injured, that team has the problem of not having a valid replacement available. Unless that team is called Real Madrid.
  5. Chris Mowday threw two innings for the Calgary Vipers (Northern League) this season and was subsequently released. Ferenç Jongejan had signed with the San Angelo Colts (Central League), but got injured in the spring and had surgery on his left (throwing) shoulder. He is currently listed on the DL of Neptunus Rotterdam (Dutch league)
  6. I need to go to our offices in Saarbrucken (Germany) this summer for a meeting. I'll try to check out their access to NSBB when I'm there.
  7. Somehow that doesn't make sense. Here in Belgium, I regularly access NSBB on different computers at different places with three different providers, and I've never had any problems other than the ones everybody had when the board went down (my apologies to Tim for reminding him of that nightmare)
  8. [-X [-X [-X [-X I sense what you are thinking there. No wishing for injuries on NSBB.
  9. I like it. :D Not sure the MLB teams share that feeling, though. Too much flying around and injury risks for their liking. But it'll be fun to watch. I sure hope Italian and/or Dutch TV stations are going to show this.
  10. NCCF, Klaus registered here on 5/10/2003, he just never posted.
  11. Done! Seems like most posters are happy to go for content rather than 'good looks' - IMHO good content is what seperates this board from 'the other board'.
  12. Glad to hear I'm not the only mono-personality guy on this board. I am wvcbxl on all message boards where I participate. I do have admiration for those of us who can manage more than one ID, I just find it hard to keep track sometimes.
