  1. Dangerous. We don't need Ibanez with that lineup. Why the hell is soto 8th though. He hasnt been slumping THAT bad, jesus. Catcher bats 8th dude...duh.
  2. Well that cinches it...Braun cannot even hit a ball batting 5th. This should increase our chances of winning. Lol, I'm just saying this seems like a funny time for Yost to pull a move like this. Braun was moved to the three hole earlier this year because he felt more comfortable there and he has been mashing the ball ever since. Now after losing the first three against the team they are chasing they dropped him down to fifth. Just seems like a desperate move to try to get him going against Cubs pitching somehow. I agree it's dumb...but is it worse than hitting Soto 8th?

  4. This was my first reaction to that lineup. I really don't understand batting him there. Cleared that right up for me, thanks! :good: I just pictured Yost sitting at a desk in a small room, a light bulb hanging from the ceiling swinging back and forth slowly, making this line-up. He's penciling in Ryan Braun in the 5 spot, the lead breaks off as he finishes the second 'n'... a wry smile appears on his face. Success.
  5. Harden better K 15 or 16 this time. BTW, just read your sig...pretty good.
  6. This has to be some kind of record...
  7. I think if they voted right now...he'd win. The media can't get enough of Z.
  8. Did he really do a curtain call on a game tying HR in the 6th inning? what? i was outside during that moment, if true, thank god i wasn't watching Wait. A guy isn't allowed to do a curtain call on game tying HR in the 6th inning? I don't recall that happening, but considering the roll he's been on, I could easily see Cubs fans calling for a similar player to do a curtain call. I am mostly talking about him having the slowest walk to 1st base in baseball after his 3 second pose. The one against the Cards was worse than against the Cubs. If he does that against Zambrano he will take notice. And if that happens, we can expect Soriano to get one in the ribs and then a nice baseball brawl. In that case, we should call up Castillo.
  9. What if we had that robot making calls at second base...
  10. This guy was born in 1974, and he's faces only 288 big league batters?
  11. Does a lead off HR by Aram make you happy here, or disappointed?
  12. To me it's more like a 30 year old [expletive] guy who's still in 5th grade.
  13. Ryno coached Castillo, so he must have given him the idea.
  14. If that's the case, though, why did they put him in the rotation to start the year? Wouldn't it have made more sense for them to leave him in AAA all year? ...how long do they have to leave him down to get an extra arbi year out of it?
  15. Definitely, no matter who wins the games, I'm hoping Aaron Miles makes at least one pitching appearance.
  16. I thought that was the whole point. Unless two teams in the east start rocking, two playoff spots go to the central. So if one of the Brewers/Cards gets swept that leaves the Cubs with as much breathing room in the playoff hunt as possible. Would you rather be tied in the division but 5 games up on a playoff spot (Cards sweep Cubs split) or 2 and 3 games up respectively (all split). Since making the playoffs is what really matters, I'll take the first choice. But who really cares...it's too early to worry about what other teams are doing anyways. I just hope we win every series.
  17. Didn't see this posted...sorry if I missed it. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3499347 How big a deal is this?
  18. This is what I'm thinking too...I would absolutely love the Cards to make the playoffs over the Brewers. I'm sure the rest of the NL agrees too. That said, I might develop an ulcer if the Cards stay this close to us for the rest of the season. CCP's logic does not take into account the teams in the NY East. Whomever does not win the NL Central will be fighting with at least two other teams for the WC spot. Therefore, the Cubs need as much distance between themselves and the two other teams behind them in their division. If they go on a 14-6 or 13-7 run that takes them to the second week of August, they should have the division wrapped up. Not likely, but a boy can dream. He did mentioned that...
