At the end of the day, Oregon is just a damn good football team. They are 33-3 in their last 36 games.
But because the Big Ten now has 48 teams, Oregon and Ohio State don't play (unless/until the B1G title game)
They simply couldn't get off the field on defense for most of the game. Oregon was constantly in 3rd and 2 situations and PSU was always in 3rd and 8. Oregon was 5 of 7 on 4th down. Very frustrating.
No one is getting open and Drew Allar is actively regressing as a QB before our eyes. He's doing his best 2024 Caleb Williams impersonation by holding the ball too long
What a kick in the nuts. Penn State thought they had a strip fumble with a big return but replay showed the Oregon RB's knee grazed the ground so they called him down. Ducks score a TD on the next play
Oregon grinding out long drives and has more than double the time of possession. Also are 3/4 on 4th down. In the meantime, Penn State keeps running horrible plays and the receivers can't get open
I'm just concerned because Penn State played three complete nobody schools (and didn't exactly dominate any of them) so having this be the first real game is a sever uptick in difficulty
