Graham Mertz was absolutely brutal in that game. Felt like every single red zone pass was into triple coverage. But obviously PSU defense gets some credit for making him look bad too. Let's hope they look past my Ball State Cardinals next week. Sean Clifford was ass as well. Overthrew three wide open receivers for easy touchdowns.
There's a very good reason that a 5-8 Dallas team vs. a 4-8 Giants team will get a primetime game over actual good teams. The Cowboys (and NFC East in general) are propped (largely due to ratings) and you aren't going to advertise/broadcast those games with a narrative around the teams sucking
Perhaps this the MLBPA trying to keep guys (like Wisdom) being stashed in the minors through their mid-20's and STILL have to earn 6 years of service time? A "use 'em or lose 'em" system for all players?
The dude has been playing for 18 horsefeathering seasons and his counting stats are hilariously bad. Barely 2000 hits, less than 1000 RBI, only 168 HR, career OPS+ of 97, career 55.3 fWAR (propped up entirely by defense)...
Bote did all he could, but it wasn’t enough. Man is Bote terrible. And his contract is even worse. Hey, those two runs that scored on his GDP w/ the bases loaded helped us win that game!
