  1. Might be a good move for Washington. But I'm glad he's not coming here. Don't need any more ex-Rockies on the team than we already have.
  2. The entire game was one big ad. How many times did they show the GM tower during the broadcast? Or how about the little DHL signs hanging behind the pitchers in the bullpen? I couldn't take it anymore. And if you want to use cruel torture, make the Gitmo inmates watch those animated explanations of pitches. Did you know that a change up is just a slow ball? Wow, thanks Slider!
  3. I say it'll go like this: PIT: 3-1 CIN: 2-2 STL: 1-2 SF: 2-1 ARZ: 2-2 that's 10-8. Sorry, but that seems about right to me. Puts them 1 game over at the deadline. Ho hum.
  4. Kevin Mitchell begs to differ. Why, was Kevin Mitchell in the stands eating a hot dog when he caught his fly ball?
  5. Pudge is already playing for Puerto Rico. How about Luis Gonzalez and other hispanics who are listed as Americans? I think they should look at your citizenship card and play you accordingly. ps I think A-Rod just wants to be on a winning team for once.
  6. Hey, I love my Honda! He can't help it Derwood, he likes having to buy a new car every 80,000 miles  I bought my first Honda with 83,000 miles on it and sold it, still in good shape, with 119,000. My current Honda (a CRV) I bought with 6 miles on it and it now has 34,560 and runs like it's brand new.
  7. My evil plan is finally coming to fruition! BWA HA HA HA HA!
  8. I agree, one game determining home field advantage in the WS is ridiculous. Selig needs to go! Right, this isn't brain surgery. Every other sport (except the NFL and it's [expletive] neutral site BS) does "best record has homefield."
  9. Well, yes, though the game has only been for homefield twice now.
  10. Yes.... against Cub pitching. And Jeff Blauser was a career .380 hitter at Wrigley, remember that argument?
  11. Dominican Republic and Venezuela are going to OWN this tourney. I did a little research into the best Dominican players. They won't have deep pitching and I couldn't find a good catcher, but check this out: P Bartolo Colon P Pedro Martinez 1B Albert Pujols 2B Alfonso Soriano 3B Adrian Beltre 3B Aramis Ramirez SS Miguel Tejada SS Rafael Furcal OF Jose Guillen OF Vladimir Guerrero OF Sammy Sosa OF Manny Ramirez DH David Ortiz Venezuela has guys like, oh, Zambrano, Cabrera, Johan Santana....
  12. For example, I just went to "View Your Posts" to see this thread and I got this message: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: phpbb_rtrim() in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/northsidebaseball.com/httpdocs/Forum/viewtopic.php on line 512
  13. This happens to me too. If, from the main BB page, I select "View Your Post", then click one of those threads, it often creates an error.
  14. I voted Beltre. He and Sexson were supposed to ressurect the Mariner offense, but he has been a no-show and the team still struggles.
  15. My deep-seeded Cubs pessimism says they won't. I remember how many years Sosa went 0 for 2 or 0 for 3 and was a complete non-factor...
  16. He's on the "Bagwell/Giambi/Sosa" diet.
  17. It's clearly based on this year, since Bonds isn't anywhere on the list.
  18. Wasn't that when he said that he was 10-0 in All Star Games, and that the NL would have won had he been playing? Then Reggie said something like, "Joe, you get to be on the air all season long. I get one moment to talk and you butt in." He made it seem like he was joking, but clearly Reggie was telling Morgan to STFU on national television.
  19. Berman: "So, Joe, who do you pick to win this year's Derby?" Morgan: "After looking over the field, I have determined that Ryne Sandberg and Ron Santo have no place in the Hall of Fame, and that Derrek Lee can't hold Albert Pujol's jock."
  20. I clicked and got a blank page.
  21. And whichever country wins, then the World Series team with more players from that country gets homefield advantage! Right Bud? But seriously, those dugouts better be big enough for the players AND their agents, as no one is going to let these guys kill themselves preseason. Also, how does this affect the actual spring training camps when the superstars are away playing a tournament? Doesn't this hurt on and off-the-field chemistry?
  22. I must say that that was the most boring piece of television I've seen in a long time. Why do I get excited for this contest every year? And as if Berman isn't enough to make you cry every year, they stick Joe Morgan with him. Christ on a crutch that was painful!
  23. It's an All Star Team. SOMEONE has to bat 9th. Plus with the DH, it's just a hit parade all day anyways.
  24. Um, let's see. Joe Carter, Bud Selig and Chip Caray?
