  1. these e*trade commercials are creepy to the nth degree
  2. another decision between standard def Len/Bob and hi-def MASN. WGN America (or whatever it's called) needs to jump on the national HD bandwagon (as does Headline News, Comedy Central, The Travel Channel, E!, etc., etc.)
  3. oh great, one of you guys is going to get drunk one night, get laid, and ruin it for everyone
  4. the local "OSU Homers" show on ESPN Radio HATES Koufos
  5. nothing for me but Sprite these days
  6. In related news, Hank Steinbrenner has now petitioned the league for a designated fielder who runs to cover various bases for the pitcher
  7. Lucky=LAAAAAAAA 14 games over .500 with only a +1 run differential
  8. Not fair to compare Chipper's career to those who spent their entire careers as 3B. Chipper has 1500 games at 3B, plus over 750 at other positions.
  9. i'm married, so you should really direct this question towards my wife
  10. I'm one that was posting exceprts from WSI. But in all fairness, I've done it during game threads from other boards before as well, particularly from DodgerBlues during one of the Dodger series. Sometimes it's funny, interesting, nice, or whatever to see what the other fans reaction to the game is. I agree with that, in moderation. the truth is, 95% of the post-game stuff over there was pretty civil and calm. the quotes people are pulling over here are hardly the norm
  11. Milwaukee also holds a slight edge (5-4) head to head against STL this year
  12. Actually, 3 above Pythag is the second largest difference in the majors, behind the Angels, so...actually, they are lucky. Adjusted Standings relative to the league, sure. but they aren't 2007 D-Backs lucky
  13. that is what i mean. and the homecourt in the NBA is more about ref's being extremely biased towards the home teams than anything else
  14. they're only 3 games ahead of their Pythag. They aren't lucky
  15. It's pretty much the worst idea Bud Selig has ever had. I nearly started a Rant about this last week. There is no other sport on the planet where home field advantage is more important. The very rules of the game are designed for the home team to have the upper hand. To determine this via a mid-season exhibition game is almost unthinkably stupid. I really, really don't understand why MLB is so obstinate about NOT letting the best record have Home Field in the WS. It's incomprehensible.
  16. They play in an easy conference but they have to get by USC first. in LA.
  17. Vance with the shameless post-padding in this thread. well done
  18. my next door neighbor is already talking smack about tOSU going undefeated. it's going to be a long fall
  19. or their players are actually good. no no, you're right, it's magic and pixie dust
  20. Why should anyone care about a player's postseason numbers? It's a ridiculously small sample size to base HoF induction on
  21. didn't they lose today and leave 27 men on base?
